This could easily be overlooked as the trailhead is at the goosenecks overlook location. A sign shows the starting point, and is well worth taking. The views are absolutely amazing. Take the trail all the way to the end that goes well past the first bench out to an overhang with panoramic views.

This trail is only 1/3 mile long, but it offer great views of the water pocket fold, especially in the late afternoon. There is not much uphill hiking and the trail is well marked until the end. It take a little bit of rock scrambling to get the best views at the end of the trail.

I like this spot for the good afternoon light, especially in the later part of the afternoon. I think this area has some good possibilities for landscape photography. I would rate the trail as a 3.5 out of 5. Again it's a nice, short walk.

This view point is somewhat hidden when you drive to the parking area (accompanying the more prominent Gooseneck View point). There is a sign on the left side (difficult to see!) that point you to the direction of short hike toward view point. Follow the carines (rock piles other people built to guide hikers). This is a somewhat convenient place... More

What a great way to spend the last 30-60 minutes of daylight, walking to Sunset Point. It's a very easy trail, only 1/3 of a mile one-way and no noticeable elevation gain. And the payoff is the great views! Adjacent to this trailhead is the trailhead to Goosenecks. At 600 feet in length one-way, I hate to even call it... More

What a great place to see the sunset at Capital Reef. The trail is easy and the 360 views are beautiful. Peaceful and quiet. There were only a couple of people when we arrived, and we were the last car in the parking lot when we left.

It's a short, fairly easy trail so definitely worth it- the view is fantastic. Would recommend it for sure.

Just a short distance from the parking lot to the scenic overlook of Sunset Point, it's a photographer's paradise.

This was a great spot to watch the beauty of the sunset unfold! It's an easy trail to hike up and there are plenty of spots to sit and relax with your camera at the ready! Make sure to look all around - the sunset lights up the canyon walls like fire! Also, make sure that you take the hike... More

The sunset view in this case is away from the sun as it sets on the red cliffs of Capitol Reef. A short 1/3 mile walk leads you to a series of high points offering magnificent views of the sandstone cliffs, and even a couple of benches to sit on along the way! Just as the sun sets the cliffs...
