As other people have said this is just off the main route through the park and is easily accessible to all as only a short walk from parking so if you have limited time to spend in Capitol Reef then stop here to get a...More

This look out is close to the parking and provides a very dramatic view into the canyon. The trail was very hard to follow to the metal, protective look out so many people just walked to the edge, which was a bit dangerous. From the...More

The shape of the river is very interesting to view from far above. The theories of the formation are fun to ponder.

This hike is super short, although pretty steep in some areas. With taking pictures it took us less than 20 minutes with a baby in a carrier. The river was very low, so the goosenecks were not all that exciting.

Easily reached in virtually any vehicle - 4WD is not at all required. There is a short trail to the overlook platform. Sunset is likely a better time to visit that sunrise.

The view from this area is unlike any other in the park - and it's free - right on Hwy 24. You can also hike to Sunset Point from the same parking lot

Just a few miles before the visitors center, and just a few hundred feet hike, you can preview the grandiose scenery that awaits you.
