We have visited at least a dozen US National Parks and I have to say that this one ranks at or very near the bottom in terms of what it has to offer. It has restrooms, a place to buy your pass, buy stuff in...More

This is the best place to visit on the East coast. There is so much to do and see we have been going for the past 4 years.

We stopped by here early in the AM on our first day in Acadia and were surprised it was closed at 7 AM. Not even the bathrooms were open! When we came back after breakfast it was packed. The rangers were very helpful and informative!...More

We’ve been to more than a dozen national parks in this visitor center was disappointing. There is ample parking, passes for sale and some info. Park here to avoid city parking.

Orientation film available. Maps and park information. Can be very crowded. Following the visitor center, drive the loop road.

This place was a mad house the morning of July 2. It was our first impression of Acadia and we thought we had made a huge mistake busting this week. Fortunately we got our pass in advance using YourPassNow.com and that made it much quicker.

Lot of information is available by park rangers, on maps, and TV screens. It can get very crowded depending on the weekend. You can park your car in the free parking lot and hop on the free Island Explorer shuttles to do the Park Loop...More

Climbing the many steps to the Center is a challenge if you're older or disabled. Did not see a sign for an alternative way up. The Center staff were very helpful and friendly. We asked about an app that could be used to follow the...More

This is 52 steps and then about a block walk to the visitor center so if you're handicapped you're not going to make it. Once inside, there is a wealth of information and the Rangers will spend time talking to you about where to go...More

The visitor center is always the first stop we make when visiting a national park. They have the stamps for the Park Passport books and park maps. There is a 52 step climb up to the visitor center, but I believe there is alternative handicap...More
