Ok, I'm from NC, have done some 4 hr strenuous hikes( for me anyway...). Unless I got this all wrong, you actually begin your ascent and see people- tiny specs- climbing on the edge with a cable between them and splat! Is that why they call it the Beehive? People look like bees on a hive? Uh didn't do that,... More

This was a very short trail that at times was dizzying. I'm terrified of heights and was scared I wouldn't be able to do it, but all the iron rungs are in perfect places and at 5'7", I didn't once feel like I had to reach to grip the next handhold, so it actually wasn't too bad. I wouldn't recommend... More

There are many beautiful hikes in the park but I enjoyed Beehive Trail the most. We were there during peak fall colors so the views were fantastic. The entire hike (coming back Bowl Trail) can be easily completed under an hour. Hand bars and rails are strategically placed to get you through the tough spots. It is a fun challenge,... More

While researching our Acadia trip, I came across this hike. I knew it would be more of a mental challenge (getting over fear of heights) than it would be physical challenge. My husband and I made the mistake of viewing the YouTube videos of the hike the night before and I think it made us nervous to the point that... More

Decided to step out of our comfort zone and try this trail. So glad we did!! A great sense of accomplishment and beautiful views are the rewards. Trail is completely doable if you are generally moderately active and have just a bit of leg and arm strength. Some steps were a little stretch for me, since I'm short, but well... More

We got here later than expected and ran through this trail in about 45 minutes... Tons of fun and gorgeous views as the sun was setting!

This is totally different than anything I have ever done before. You literally climb up the side of a mountain there are strategically placed rungs to help you get up the mountain. There are boards and rungs placed in spots to help you get across certain parts of the mountain that would be pretty dangerous if they weren't there, but... More

Awesome hike, amazing views. It was all people in their 20s and 30s when we were there but anyone with moderate fitness/agility could do it. I wouldn't do it in the rain because of the iron rungs. Would definitely definitely recommend.

I would say it is one of the best trails I ever climbed! It looks very difficult and steep to to climb but came out very easy. On the hardest part of the trail most of the time people stop for pictures and views so by the time you get to the top you are not that tired. Considering all... More
