We went into the church, which if you are not suitably attired extra clothing is provided, to be surprised by the ornate architecture and decoration. We were privileged (and slightly shocked) when they opened the tomb of St Dennis for people to pay homage. A...More

Look at the ceilings and walls to enjoy the artwork and icons. Look for crying angels at the cruxifiction.

Impressive church with beautiful paintings. We were especially captivated by the painting on the left back wall. It's free to visit and definitely worth a visit.

The memories of visiting this church stay on in our minds. Especially seeing, being close to and praying next to the mummified remains of St Dionisios. St Dennis is the Saint of the island and many of the locals have great reverence for him. They...More

This is an amazing Greek Orthodox church with walls and ceilings decorated with religious stories. It is a practising church. Candles can be brought and light for a donation - good oportunity for quiet reflection while on your travels. Photography is definitely not allowed.
