This is not like big castle and one should not have big imagination of grand castle as in Other European cities or Indian subcontinent. There is not much to see as historical evidences but green surroundings and nice view point with Greek Flag motivates you to go there. Ruins of churches and Prisons may try to send you back in... 4 euros to enter and walk around not much to see but really quiet and peaceful place with some church and medieval buildings still present inside but mostly taken over by trees interspersed with wells so watch your footing- most were covered! The boys started lobbing pinecones at each other which they enjoyed as we were the only ones there... More

It's a steep walk to find this place, and not easy, up on the hills overlooking the town, but it's worth it, both to see the ruins and the fantastic views across much of the island. Not much remains of the castle, having been pulled down in an earth quake, but its sheer size is impressive and must have taken... More

We caught the little train into Zakynthos town from Lagunas and while we were there we decided to walk up and find Bohali castle. We could see the flag flying on-top of the castle from the new square and found our own way up. It is a steep walk up but interesting and definitely worth the walk which was some... More

Made our way up by foot and with a basic zakynthos map.....got a bit lost, but it was part of the exploring. Very steep by foot but there's a road if you have a car/bike. Really enjoyable to explore the castle ruins and the views across the island were impressive. Although upon arrival I was directed to them the toilets... More

We walked from our hotel - fairly up hill from our hotel.... Very uphill from the town. You can get a taxi or hire a car/ bike if you want to. Make sure it is open first! We didn't and can only comment on the front gates as that is as far as we got to! Panoramic views from the... More

Known as the Fortress. The grounds are lovely, however, signage against each ruin to give an idea of what you were looking at would have been nice. The toilets were disgraceful, I could not use them

Three of us visited last week and were charged 4euros each to enter. Other tripadvisor responders have said that the entrance fee is 2euros. Have they just increased the prices? Anyway, having walked up in blistering heat we were in need of a drink. on consulting one of the maps we headed for the refreshment room which turned out to... More
