Beautiful but steep walk. Going up took us a little over 1.5 hours. Wear walking shoes and bring your own water. We saw monkeys in the trees which was a great experience! The waterfall is quite impressive. Take something to sit on so you can...More

I'm in pretty good shape, and this hike took a lot out of me. Everyone that I encountered that day agreed that the distance was more than they say. Probably at least 4km. I think because the trail is pretty rough, and not just flat...More

We did this hike in March 2017 (dry season) and started around noon. We probably should have started earlier in the day when it was a bit cooler. It would have made for an easier hike, but it was still doable given the heat. The...More

went here during dry season and the reward was not worth the hot and difficult trek. i would highly suggest going during wet season so that you can appreciate the glory of the fall and be able to play in the water to cool down...More

Waterfall at the end was not as impressive as I liked after the tough walk up, however the walk itself was what I enjoyed most. Fantastic scenery, howlers along the way. Very steep/ tough climb nearer the top.

The hike is difficult. The first 3/4 can be accessed by horse, but you must make the last 1/4 on your own. It's very steep and rocky. You must climb over boulders. Some of it is wet and slippery. However, when you reach the top,...More

It is a good hike . Start early in the nicaraguayen heat it is hard. The last leg is more difficult but worth it. You can use the fall to cool down . It gets more crowded at lunch.

This is one of the highlights in Ometepe! I have read some reviews of dry waterfall during dry season, which I can understand. We visited the waterfall in december and it was quite small already, but really nice and high. The hike is about 1.5hrs/3-4km...More
