Staying in Dali so travelled here as Lonely Planet said it was a quaint old town with winding streets and old buildings - they lied!! This is one of the worst places I have ever been. A small town on the edge of Erhai. An exciting place, the air was full of the fragrance of flowers, the weather was nice and they have full bodied ethnic feature.

Not much to see and not much to do. This looks like it's an 'ancient town' under construction. I suspect it will become more of a tourist place in the future but at the moment it's a bunch of overpriced shops with some very poor standard bars/cafes. There r hotels and inns everywhere with very reasonable price. If u wanna slow down ur life and get away from the city for a while it s perfect for u.
