As a beginner in riding the horse, there was no initial safety orientation rules done. You just jump and instructions were given how to hold the horse. At the beginning I already told the guide to watch me but because there were 25 of us and only 2 guides. Its impossible! At first, I felt good but after the break,... More

Yep, that sure was bad luck. Honestly you were a part of a group of 15 with three guides, the young man helping you being my son. As this was my bi-monthly day off what I have to go on is the afterreport filed. You slid off on walking speed and the horse stopped, starting again when you kicked him... More

Just back after the most amazing experience riding horses through Icelandic Countryside. Went with my husband and 10 year old daughter. We are all inexperienced riders but thoroughly enjoyed it. Even our daughter's unscheduled dismount did not detract from the overall experience. Thank you especially to Eva who did an amazing job helping us all. Riding through 2 rivers was... More

Fantastic ride with my two girls. Extremely obliging family run business, who were a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Phoned the day before and they were able to accommodate us without hesitation (not even a deposit to pay up front). Turning up in 'civvies' we were delighted to find that everything was supplied: waterproofs, boots as well... More

I still can't get over how adorable the little guy looks at first, then you find out that for a rather small 'orse, it's got a lot of 'personality'. (Read: Won't do a damn thing you ask it to, does what it wants when you don't.) It's a great adventure learning how these amazingly strong horses handle a rider and... More

Let me start by saying that my friend and I, both experienced riders who've ridden Icelandics before, loved this ride. We really did. The scenery was beautiful, the horses were awesome and the people were very kind, efficient and helpful. They kitted everyone out with waterproof clothing, hats and offered waterproof boots. I'd brought my own gear (brand new leather... More

A must do experience in Iceland. Laxnes provides all the gear you need, has well trained staff who adjust the ride to different riding levels. We rode up and down hill, over small streams, viewing snow covered mountains. We are older (70) and enjoy a gentler pace with an occasional trot, while others in our group did more rapid stride.... The horseback riding in Laxnes farm was definitely the highlight of my trip in Iceland. You get to ride the icelandic horses in a nice long trip through stunning scenery in their farm. I was a bit worried beforehand because I had never ridden a horse before, but these horses are really gentle and totally safe. The people that run... More

I was happy to find this place: People who love their job and happy horses who enjoy their work. Everyone got a horse based on their experience and wishes. We were riding in a big group which was mixed with beginners and more advanced riders but it didn't bother me. The faster horses were in the front and the path... More

I felt like I was surrounded by fairies by the end of my 2hr ride. My horse name was very gentle and he loved riding with me. There was only 3 people in my group so the whole ride was very private and pleasant - especially since it was my first time horse back riding. I definitely recommend! (Make sure... More

So I hadn't ridden a horse in 20 years but everything was just fine. Beautiful scenery! If you go in winter get the hand warmers or wear super good gloves as I couldn't feel my fingers for an hour after and that was with two pairs of gloves. It was well worth the pain. They pick a horse according to... More
