We came here using the ropeway. From here you can have a wonderful panorama and start a walk in the woods where you can meets some deers and monkeys and enjoy the peace and the nature. Absolutely to do!

We spent a perfect morning climbing up to Mt Misen. We arrived about 9.30 by ferry to start the climb. It took about 2 hours. No guide was necessary as the path to the top is well sign posted. Some of the ascent was arduous,...More

Miyajima is a crowded sightseeing spot due to the famous floating Torii so the mountains offer a nice escape. Wonderful nature, fantastic landscape and beautiful view. Weather was not too good but we will come again !

since we were short on time, we took a taxi from the boat station to the ropeway station which cost us less than a 1000 yen. The ropeway/cable car ride is scary but has awesome views, especially in the second part. And at the top...More

The summit is well worth the hike up. Due to our unfortunate timing we did this at 2pm in the heat of the day but would not have missed this. Sensible footwear is recommended. The 360 degree views from the viewing tower are superb. After...More

One word of advice, if you are hiking in summer months, bring water. It was 96 degree with humidity so it felt like 108. We did not bring water and after a certain point, there is no water to buy. Otherwise, it is an amazing...More

Mount Misen is the highest peak on Miyajima. On clear days, it affords spectacular view of the Seto inland sea. A ropeway leads up the mountain from town.

We opted to walk through the park to the base of the gondola. The park view is ok in the summer -- gradual uphill climb with a few deer browsing. I'm sure it would be lovely in the fall or spring. As an alternative, you...More

We took the 2.5km long Daishoin-path to the top. It took us 75 mins to reach it. Make sure you bring enough water, it's a pretty tough hike. The path is paved with stone stairs. Signs will lead the way through the nice forest. Be...More

Hi Koral88 Even if you take the ropeway there's still a considerable distance to walk to get to the top of Mt. Misen from the platform where the ropeway ends. It's a lovely uphill trail and the views are worth it. We rode... More
