Who is ever thought about fishing indoors? I've never thought about doing that before! I had a couple beers a great time creating memories. I'll be back for that fat carp another time! The manager was incredibly helpful and provided us a great experience the whole time!Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 16 October 2023

Everyone waits in line until it’s their turn to order takoyaki. You don’t step on trash because everyone disposes them in the restaurants, food stalls or takes them back to the hotel. Come here for the food and lights!Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 December 2023
- Tanya T.Illinois1,615 contributionsA Must-See Shopping and Dining DestinationDontonbori is undoubtedly the shopping mecca of Osaka. Stretching for miles, the area is teeming with stores, full-service restaurants, and eateries offering quick bites. As you stroll along the picturesque riverfront, boats sail back and forth, providing passengers with a unique perspective of Osaka from the water. While it's easy to spend half a day exploring Dontonbori, I highly recommend returning at night when the area truly comes alive with a vibrant, electric atmosphere that exudes a completely different vibe. Among the countless shops and eateries, be sure to check out Kani Doraku for it's crab dishes, the 10 Yen Bread (with choice of cheese or custard), and Mooken for puff pastries! They were a standout during my visit! If you see a long line with locals and natives, that's where you should eat!Visited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten 21 May 2024

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Explore, enjoy the atmosphere along the river. Lovely walk. Comes alive at night. Buzzing restaurants, shopping, street food, loads of people, neon lights and billboards. Very safe, but as with any place where there are a lot of people, watch your bags.

We felt unsafe here. My friend visited a month prior and were followed. We were also followed and the man was very persistent. It's also surprisingly dirty and overpriced. The whole area felt like being stuck in a McDonald's playscape.

What an experience, full of colour, sound and people. Full of restaurants, cafes and arcade games. Just prepare to be confronted but also entertained by this amazing place.

You can reach there via M20 Namba Station and exit 14. There is a huge duty free building (with ferri wheels - I think it's the Don Don Donki store) where you can basically buy a lot of food, drinks and other stuffs home. This prices is the cheapest among other duty free shops so make sure you accumulate 5400 yen to enjoy duty free deductions. There is also a famous ramen shop near to the duty free shop with long queues. The whole street offers a variety of food for tourists.
