- SenMINGJohor Bahru, Malaysia89 contributionsWorth every penny and every minuteI visited Disney Land Tokyo with my family on a weekend night in December 2022. We bought the evening entry that allowed us to enter the park after 3 p.m. at a discounted rate. We thought it was a great deal because we could still enjoy most of the attractions, parades, and shows without spending too much time or money. We arrived at the park around 4 p.m. and headed straight to Tokyo Disneyland. We were amazed by the beautiful decorations and the festive atmosphere. We had a wonderful time at Disney Land Tokyo at night with our family. We felt that it was worth every penny and every minute. We would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to experience the best of both parks in a short time. It was a memorable visit that we will never forget.Visited December 2022Travelled with familyWritten 26 September 2023
- MissPerkyAK378 contributionsMost Magical Place in JapanIt's Disney. What else can I say? It definitely had the magical Disne land vibe that the U.S. parks have. The Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast ride is gorgeous! The animateonics are so well done. 110% worth getting the fast pass to skip the 4 hour line. Park staff are what you'd expect at Disney, above and beyond. I would recommend two days at this park at a minimum to really enjoy the experience and see everything. It rained buckets while we were at the park . Most of it is covered. We did not get wet except for on Splash Mountain, which is a given.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 30 September 2023
- dmas6Santa Ana, California948 contributionsTokyo Disneyland should make your list.I was pleasantly surprised by Tokyo Disneyland – it truly lived up to all the hype. The park's size caught me off guard, leading to a lot of walking, but it's all part of the experience. Given the immense popularity, arriving early is key to enjoying the rides without exceptionally long wait times; you might find yourself waiting for up to 90 minutes for some attractions. So, bring your patience with you, remember you're on vacation, and immerse yourself in the magic of the place. I'll be returning in a few days – that's how much I enjoyed it!Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 13 October 2023
- stevenjbCambridge, United Kingdom166 contributionsDisney being Disney and I’m here for itThis park wasn’t originally on the list as we thought it would just be another Magic Kingdom and yeah, it is but that exactly why I’m glad we went in the end. This park has some great rides and some which caught me off guard a little. The classics such as Big Thunder Mountain; Star Tours; It’s a Small World and Haunted Mansion are all here and are their usual fun and enjoyable selves. The addition of Beauty and the Beast and other rides which you don’t find at other Disney parks just help set this version of Magic Kingdom apart. Space Mountain was a little gem too. It was fast and frenetic and had the perfect amount of out of control feeling with some nice little pops of airtime. Yes, I know it’s being replaced with a new version in 2027 but I really enjoyed this one. Queues were excessive for a weekday and the priority pass for the rides did end of being used up pretty quickly but you can’t help get swept up in the Disney-ness of it all.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 4 November 2023
- Natalia SWarwickshire, United Kingdom337 contributionsAmazing time and experienceWe really enjoyed the time we had here, we had a full day and also an evening pass for Disneyland. We really enjoyed the parades, I personally haven’t seen a Main Street Electrical parade since the year 2000 at a family visit to Disneyland Paris. It brought back happy memories! We were really impressed with the daytime parades, a lot better than the ones we are used to at Disneyland Paris, and that people were able to cross at certain times. There were fireworks near the end of the park which can be viewed anywhere in the park, which we really enjoyed. The Cast Members are very friendly and nice, like all hospitality workers in Japan they were very attentive and took pride in their job. We used the Premier Access and 40th Anniversary Pass for a couple of the rides, as we stayed in a Disney hotel we made use of our early 15 tickets and managed to get into the queue for the Haunted Mansion before the park opening. My partner was slightly disappointed that we were unable to prebook a restaurant in advance, but the counter service restaurants are amazing quality and we didn’t really miss out on good food in the park. The main annoyance we had was when people were sat in their spots for hours before the parade. In some areas, they were near enough blocked off by these people sat down and you had to jump between/over them to get to places. During the parades this was amazing, everyone sat down as you can see everything but we found those sat for 5 hours before hand blocking areas to be a bit extreme.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 25 November 2023
- JayHi96Balmain, Australia692 contributionsMighty MouseWe visited Disney for 2 days with our 4yo son and it was an amazing experience. The park was spotless, efficient and welcoming. While the wait for some rides can be extensive (over an hour for popular rides), the wait is quickly forgotten once you are on them. There is a good number of food options at surprisingly reasonable prices and getting there is easy by rail. You need at least 2 days to experience most of the park. All of the ride commentary is in Japanese, which is worth noting, but didn’t really impact our experience as English speakers.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 27 December 2023
- Gemma49 contributionsWow! What a day!I really wasn't sold on the whole Disneyland thing but from the moment we arrived it was a truly amazing experience. Everything was intentional and organised and held to the absolute highest standard. The food was great. Everything was reasonably priced (for an amusement park). The rides were great! Especially Space Mountain. The parade was excellent. Really no complaints. A great day out. Some recommendations: Bring snacks because the lines can be ridiculous even for food and you don't want to get hangry. Wear sunscreen because you'll be in the sun a lot. If it's winter - bring an extra layer! That winter wind is brutal by the coast. It was positively freezing for us Aussies. Don't be put off by long wait times for rides - it's so efficient and organised that the time flew by. Only the bigger thrill rides dragged a bit in the lines but they were worth it. Get in early - we were there from 9am to 9pm and only just managed to get through the Disney park. If you are going to attempt Disney and Disney Sea all at once I'd say stay in the resort and do it over two days. It's huge! Oh and bring comfy shoes because you'll be on your feet for 12 hours. Have fun!Visited January 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 16 January 2024

This was the third Disneyland I had been to, the layout is very similar to the Orlando one. However, the management of the facilities is an absolute disaster.
.
There is a website which predicts the busy-ness of each day. We deliberately chose the one which meant to be less busy to avoid huge crowds. I was aware of the option to get a FastPass, however, by 10 am all fast passes were already given away and we managed only to get one for the Star Wars for 6 pm. This ride was very similar to the one at the other Disneyland and to be fair the attractions themselves very good. If you only could access them.
.
By 10:30 am the facility was so much crowded, so you could not really distinct if you were in a queue or just walking around. There were 150-200+ minutes queues outside each main attraction, even before you get inside for another queue. Some of them were 10 people deep, which made it literally a huge crowd standing on each other's heads.
.
Both in Florida and Paris, you could see plenty of characters walking around, most of the time, you could take pictures with them straight away. In Disneyland Tokyo, we had to queue for 75 minutes to take a picture with Mickey! The staff was rushing everyone and only one picture for the group was allowed. Bizarre.
30 minutes wait for the ladies toilet;
25 for the popcorn;
local food place was so busy, so people were standing behind the chairs waiting for the others to finish their meals, so they could finally have some dining space;
.
Splash Mountain 180-200 minutes waiting;
Big Thunder Mountain 180 minutes;
Pooh's Hunny Hunt 180 minutes;
Monsters Inc 150 minutes.
.
People were sitting on the cold concrete for an hour to observe the parade. The staff could not properly explain in English where and how you could meet the characters. I would expect them to speak at least better English, considering how international this attraction is.
.
On top of everything else, the main castle was covered in scaffoldings, which made pictures look ugly.
Personally, I would very much question the safety and security procedures of this place. I don't see how they would be able to evacuate all those people should such necessity arises.
Very much keen to ask Disney for the whole refund for such terrible experience.

This was extremely disappointing, the lines 120 + minutes for a ride or any show. The street parades allowed for some to sit but this included collapsing of prams in the space allowing for less people in the very small areas, attendants just wanted to move you on and no English speaking so had no idea where we could stand to watch the street parade. Queuing for food or toilets was 30 mins. There needs to be a limit on tickets sold each day for you to enjoy the park. Many other attractions in Japan that I would recommend before this.
Very dismal compared to what the USA has to offer.

We bought 3 day passports tickets earlier in February for March. When Disney closed we tried to get the refund. No email sent to guests who booked already, nothing on the website. They announce everyday day that a web form will be available soon but keep pushing the date foward. It will be soon 1 month since they closed and still no possibility to get refund, the lack of communication for such a big company is really disappointing.

Great day out it was a pity the castle is getting refurb but we still got some good photos of it. We headed to the Crystal Palace Restaurant for a late lunch/early dinner as they offered a buffet for 90min it only cost me $5100 yen for both of us. This disney is great and look forward to going again in the future.

We were expecting it to be quiet on a Wednesday during school term but the place was pretty busy, with queues of over an hour on the bigger rides.
However, plenty of the rides had short queues, the parade we saw was fantastic, the sun shone and it was altogether a great day out.
The park is only 20 minutes on the train from Tokyo station in the center of the city so it is very easy to access.
Loads of guests had made the effort to dress up for the day, which added to the occasion.
On the downside, the towers on the main palace are covered in scaffolding and a new attraction - beauty and the beast, which looked spectacular - is not yet open.
An excellent and reasonable value day out...

I visited Tokyo Disneyland in the evening. The rides were fun, staff were generally helpful but at times strange/ uncomfortable. Many can't speak English and nod their heads with a smile and laugh which only makes it weird. I found the place lacked soul (of disney cartoons) in general. Visually it brought back childhood memories but I couldn't get absorbed in it because it's mainly tailored to the Japanese people. I'd advise visitors to try their evening pass to get a good glimpse before visiting for the entire day. They should rename the place to something else, not Disneyland. Good visuals overall though. There was some construction/ repair work going on when I visited in December.
Accessibility is highly convenient by train and it gets a bit busy during the closing time, around 10 pm I think.

Yes we knew it was high season, however the number of people that were allowed to enter was unreal. The park could hold this amound but the attractions couldn't. Even to buy popcorn you needed to wait for 45 minutes.
The attractions were OK but far from the best one we have been in before. There were not enough entertainment on the crosswords and it dodn't feel like Disnet at all.
Last, it is winter and cold - heaters in the 90-120 minutes lines would of been nice!
Don't go in high seasons!

Tokyo Disneyland is awesome as long as you understand some things you’ll need to know. The first is that lines for popcorn are longer than most rides as popcorn is life in Japan and the buckets are collectibles. Secondly lines for food are also extremely long so it’s recommended you bring snacks or find snack lines that are short, the snacks in the park are amazing!!! The park is beautiful fun and easy to traverse, highly recommend if you are a Disney fan.

Both parks - Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea open from 9:00-22:00 during our visit early Jan2020.
For those who be able to plan for 2 whole days to both parks is fantastic! If you have limited time, after 6 pm ticket will allow you to complete both parks even on 1 day. Therefore we would recommend you for 2 days plan. As our trip this time quite tight, we plan after6 ticket for Disneyland 1 day and a full whole day ticket for DisneySea.
The evening ticket allow you to complete plenty of rides as shorter queue than day time and we really had a great time at Disney every single time visit. Please have fun and enjoy your time there. Cheers!

The best Disney experience ever. Clean, kind cast members, a lot of food options, lines are long but move pretty quickly, and rides that are unique to TDL.
It’s Disney in August. Heat and humidity are intense and it was crowded. But the crowd level wasn’t any worse than Anaheim or Orlando.
We did not wait 60+ min lines for the popular rides and splurged on Premier Access. We also utilized the free 40th anniversary priority pass (similar to fast pass).
We did not utilize the Happy Entry 15 (15 min early entry for Disney hotel guests) and went to the park somewhere between 9:30 and 10:30 am. We were able to get one or two priority accesses (free) per day and get priority accesses (paid).
The popcorn buckets are so fun and there are many interesting popcorn flavors.
Shows are based on the lottery system.
IMHO, TDL is a shining example of Disney magic and Japanese efficiency and hospitality.

Can any Australians who have stayed at Tokyo Disney hotels advise on how they booked (eg what cards?). I’ve heard it’s really hard as most foreign cards aren’t accepted but mostly seems to be US visitors saying that?

We are going in October . We have to wait one months before the travel to by the combo ticket ( Disneyland and Disney Sea ) . If we are buying separately we can buy two months before . There is a slight difference in the price . Should we buy tickets separately as soon as it is available or wait for another month to buy the combo . Will that be too late .
Written 31 July 2023
In my experience tickets rarely sell out and especially not a month ahead. You’ll be fine to wait and get the combo a month out.

Crowds before a holiday?
Hello everybody, we are planning to visit Disneyland this year on the 22 of November but are a little bit concerned because the next day is Labor Thanksgiving Day. Does anybody know if Disneyland is more crowed on a day before a holiday? Specifically is the 22 of November usually more crowed than a normal Wednesday? Thank you for taking the time to read my questions :)

I am going to be at Tokyo Disney in August 2023 and I just purchased my tickets on the official Disney web site. The transaction shows up on my Disney app and on the website and I received QR codes in an email. From what I have read, the QR codes should show up in the app but I can't find them anywhere. Do I need to bring the printed email QR codes or will they show up at some point in the app?
Also, I've read that the app should have a function that allows you to create a group so you can provide tickets to others in your group. I don't see that button anywhere on the app so how can I give the tickets to others so they don't have to go through the gate while standing next to me?
Any help is appreciated.

I'm from the UK and planning to come here in a year or two. My questions are which are the best restaurants for vegetarians/vegans and where's the nearest hotels that have three beds (Triple Room)?
Written 4 May 2023
Sorry saw this late, but nearest hotels are unnecessary as Tokyo has great transport and ramen or sushi rice is always good (?) for vegans as l used to be one.
Hope this helps!

If there is, how do we purchase the tickets?

How many days are needed to complete going around Tokyo Disneyland?
Written 15 January 2023
I would say 2. We managed most things in 2 days but we also had a 3 year old so weren't the quickest. I recommend eating at off peak times, rope dropping, saving the high traffic areas to after 7pm (we were able to do everything in tomorrowland after 7pm with max waiting times of 20min, and on our second day we used that time for the night parade, big thunder mountain, fireworks and splash mountain).

The Tokyo DLR website indicates tickets go on sale at 2:00pm for admissions on the same date two months later- is this based on your time zone?
I did a practice check but at 2:00pm Tokyo time (9:00pm the day before my time), the option to buy a ticket 2 months out doesn't become available. Would I need to wait until 2:00pm on the exact date two months out MY time zone to purchase?
