- Felicia DMurfreesboro, Tennessee2,186 contributionsFunThis is a good place to go once. It’s not a place one would return to repeatedly. The concept is really cool, with all kinds of exhibits that you are literally standing in the middle of. Some pointers and FYI: the earlier you arrive, the faster the line will move, but still be prepared to wait about 30 minutes outside. Take off your shoes and socks, and you will go barefooted. They have lockers for free and nothing is allowed except a Camera or your phone. The lockers will hold a backpack. There is a subway station two minutes by foot, but it’s a bit far out from the city. There is a small café right next door and gift shop. If any of the exhibit make you uncomfortable, they have a detour that you can take to skip them.Visited October 2023Travelled soloWritten 3 October 2023
- pathwaysVancouver63 contributionsImmersive art show what an experienceTook the subway to the nearest station then walked to Team labs. The view of Tokyo from across the bay offers a different perspective as does this modern complex of housing, parks and families which is where the lab is situated. Team labs is a must experience. Visually stunning immersive art. Very Japanese to remove your socks and shoes, clean your feet and proceed to be enveloped in art. This offers an avant garde look into Japanese culture.Visited March 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 9 October 2023
- Isabella SSydney, Australia121 contributionsReally fun experience!A great sensory experience! Purchase tickets in advanced, don't wear skirts as their are mirrors on the floor, and wear pants that roll up over your knees as the water can be deep. They have luggage storage along with lockers that are free. Be prepared to remove shoes and socks. Make sure to arrive early as the line outside can get long.Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 14 October 2023
- Erin CGlasgow, United Kingdom487 contributionsIncredible art experienceAbsolutely loved it. So many different rooms with different concepts. Really good fun for kids and adults and very instagrammable. What I liked the most is you aren't rushed. Except for one room, you can spend as much or as little in each area. Just make sure you book in advance. We booked 3 weeks in advance and still couldn't get the timeslot we wanted.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 19 October 2023
- Ana PStratford-upon-Avon, United Kingdom125 contributionsMind blowing!Unexpectedly surprised by how much we enjoyed it! We didn’t quite know what to expect. Had read some good reviews but were struggling to understand the concept. Now we know why the reviews are so great. Such a brilliant experience you have to … experience! to be able to get why. We absolutely loved it and thought it was definitely worth the journey there.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 25 October 2023
- susan PScottsdale, Arizona18 contributionsMuch Quicker Than We ExpectedWe’d heard so much about Team Labs and had been looking forward to a truly amazing experience. While the exhibits were definitely fascinating and visually stimulating, we were surprised when we came out that only 45 minutes had elapsed since the time we entered. I wondered at first if perhaps we’d missed a room or two but then we saw our son and daughter-in-law were outside waiting for us, as they had also finished. While it’s true you can take longer in each exhibit there’s truly no compelling reason to and there are employees who seem to encourage moving on. Unfortunately, several hours after returning to the hotel my husband noticed a rash on both of his lower legs - where he’d been exposed to the water during the visit.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 26 October 2023
- AndrushcaOviedo, Spain33 contributionsNice immersive experienceEverybody loves the garden area, but I loved much more the water zone. Impressive art, lights and music, I loved the koi and flowers reflection in the water. Even though it was pretty crowded, it went quite ok, you had time and space to take good photos and enjoy the atmosphereVisited October 2023Travelled soloWritten 26 October 2023
- LarryEelesRoyston, United Kingdom127 contributionsFantastic experience, would highly recommendVisited this attraction with friends and my wife and had a fantastic experience. Take your shoes off as you will get wet starts as you mean to go on. Texture, light, sensations are all exposed and in a wonderfully playful way. Give it a go, you will have a great time. Something will remember for the rest of my life.Visited August 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 27 October 2023
- Clare ANorwich, United Kingdom16 contributionsAn experience for all the senses.A wonderful visual, tactile, olfactory and audio experience. Be prepared to get your legs wet up to the knees! We went round twice we loved it so much so all in all were in there about 2.5h. My 12 year old son said he'd go to more art galleries if there were all like this! Also really recommend the vegan ramen place right outside. Not cheap but delicious, and good to know there was no meat in it for the vegetarians in the family.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 27 October 2023
- Paul SmithEast Sussex, United Kingdom11 contributionsImmersive, Imaginative, incredibleAmazing all round, they have the timing spot on with how long it takes. Make sure to visit both gardens, as we almost missed half of the course as you come into the locker rooms and have to go back through. Everyone was so polite and respectful, the son absolutely loved it👍👍Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 27 October 2023

We (6 adults and 6 children) had a great afternoon! It was a visual and tactile experience. Air, water, mixed flooring...... it was a sensory experience like no other we’ve been to.
Tickets were purchased online for a pre-set time slot which made it very organised.
The food was well priced and good quality.

TeamLab Planets is right next to Shin-Toyosu station (handy, considering it was raining when I went) on the Yurikamome Line. The rental shorts are free (2 of the exhibits involve wading in heated water) and they provide free lockers and towels to dry yourself off after each water exhibit. There are about 5 rooms and passage ways in between with sensory experiences for the feet. Two of the rooms are similar to 2 at TeamLab Borderless, but it felt less crowed here so I could take my time and enjoy the rooms more. I booked a 10am - 10:30am time slot and there was barely any line then. Even with taking my time it only took an hour to go through and enjoy. TeamLab Borderless took me around 4 hours as it is larger and had queues inside for some exhibits.

A great experience for 1st timer.. We love the water area. Recommended for everyone who is travelling to Tokyo.
We enter at night (last entry around 8.30pm) and spend about 1.5 hours inside. We booked the ticket only few days before and looks like it is very popular, tickets sold out fast so please book early.
Slightly far from where we stay (We stay near Tokyo Sky Tree) and need to change train.
TeamLab Tokyo is just in front of the Shin-Toyosu station on the Yurikamome line, 1 minute walk or less.
Not much eateries around, we walk to the JAL hotel nearby (5-7) minutes walk to have dinner before getting in to the TeamLab, there is Family mart at the hotel as well.
There is outdoor section as well but they provided umbrella just in case it is raining (it rains during our visit) but mostly are indoor activities.
Check out their website for more details on the pricing and entry timing, they increase the entrance ticket starting 1st July 2023.

Would like to put 0 star but obviously we can't. This is a lighting exhibition for instagramer, nothing more. Save your money and go to real museums (well, if you like museum of course and don't need to feed your instagram). 45min for 6-7 visuals but, from my point of view again, not amazing/technique rooms and 3200¥. We could have paid less (and we thought we did) as we booked during a 30% discount period from 2020/09/01 to 2020/09/18. So everybody is concerned, but still, you have to put a coupon code or the 30% can't be considered!?!? Just get 30% off the tickets prices for this period and don't scam people who don't read the small texts (us, our bad) and trust that the discount is applied... It's like going to sales in a clothes shop with 50% on all articles, but if at the cashier you don't say "I want the 50% discount", they don't apply it. That wouldn't make sense right?! Then your plan doesn't make sense

I have very mixed feelings about this experience. The exhibit was fun and different and the creativity was impressive but the organization leaves a lot to be desired in terms of communication and crowd control. They WAY oversell the tickets for each session meaning we had to wait in line (in the pouring rain) for about forty minutes even though we arrived on time and had booked our tickets months in advance. Once inside we found out that we would need to roll up our pants as part of the exhibit involves being knee deep in water and that some of the exhibits have mirrors on the floor meaning they are not suitable for people wearing skirts. Whilst they had shorts available for hire I feel this should have been explained beforehand so we could have dressed accordingly. The locker room is extremely crowded and there is nowhere to sit to take your shoes on and off. The exhibits are also very crowded and the staff are constantly yelling instructions at everyone which detracts from what should be a calm zen like experience. This was the only place in Japan where we felt the staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. If you are prepared for all these issues you will probably have a fun time.

Fabulous immersive experience. We took a gazillion photos the first time around, then dropped our phones and cameras in the free lockers and did it again. The second time we read the TeamLab notes on the artworks and discovered that we could influence some of the experiences, and really had fun doing it. A very enjoyable couple of hours. We took the opening shift 9am entry and this meant no waiting time in the entry queue. Would recommend!

This exhibition focus on experience, if you’ve read Dan Brown’s book the origin, the experience almost mimic the opening scenes of the book. You have to take off your shoes, your socks, and possibly in short, because you will be walking on water to knee-high, you’ll be walking on the garden, to literally use your skin to experience and feel the artwork. We do have to purchase tickets in advance, you can do it online or physically at the location. And there are two part of the Exhibition- water and the garden. Really fascinating。the word of cautious, if you are very sensitive to motion, sickness, I would highly recommend to take related medication before going in.

We had read about teamLab Planets Tokyo in the Weekend Australian travel section before leaving Australia, so booked in advance. This proved to be necessary, as was arriving a little early, as by the time the gates opened at 10am, there was a very long queue behind us. It is divided into many different rooms each with its own unique experience. At age 74, there was only one experience I was unable to take part in & this was where the floor sunk down to about knee level when taking steps on it. The staff showed me a pathway round this room so I could wait for my grandson at the exit. Everything else was fine for a person of my age to participate in. At times, it seemed to be a case of just following other people round the various rooms, as there didn't seem to be enough staff to direct us, but I expect staff-shortage is a worldwide problem at present. We spent about 3hrs there which included eating the Ramen noodles after exiting. The day was cold with occasional drizzling rain, so the hot noodles were very welcome. Taxis are available outside the exit for those who just want to get back to the warmth of their hotel, but otherwise, the train station is immediately across the street.

The illustration of light is simple and eye opening, unfortunately we had to go on 1/1 as most places closed in Japan. So you can imagine there were too many people, but with patience you can still get some decent picture. But 2 of the showings required to queue more than one hour so I had to give up. No queue to buy ticket on the spot but people who already purchased ticket, had to wait for 30 mins, strange.

This was our first museum in Tokyo after seeing so many people visiting we had to go and were not disappointed.
This place is so trippy and cool woow
Can’t imagine all the work behind the scene to create something like this, we enjoyed everything and make the best out of our day here.
Definitely recommend, this is great fun for all ages.

Is this a place worth visiting as a childless adult? Or only good for parents with children?
Written 30 September 2023
Hi mele71!
This place is definately for people without kids! It‘s like a very special museum. I‘d say it‘s even better if you visit it without kids, because you can focus on it much better.
So, go for it!

Hello, we want to visit the place, but we have to kids ages 4 and 2, is it available for kids?

Honestly, I don't think it's good for children that young. I've only been to Planets (not Borderless) so I speak about Planets. I think a small child might even be frightened by some of the exhibits.

Hi, we are coming straight from the airport. Do you have counters or lockers that can store luggages size 24inches
Written 11 September 2023
They have padlock chains where you can lock up prams and strollers have seen people use those for luggage before
Written 13 September 2023
As user swisstraveller said, you can access the Uzu vegan ramen restaurant and flower shop (if it's open as it was closed when we went) without a ticket.
I dont recall seeing an actual gift shop there as such. Best use the enquiry form on their website and email them for definitive information.
