The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi
Ginza is famous for being a trendy hotspot, but it's also a downtown area with shops that were founded over a hundred years ago. Department stores and luxury boutiques line the route from Nihonbashi to Ginza. It's a long established tradition to shop and stroll while the road is closed to traffic. Luxury hotels, world class cuisine from talented chefs, and a collection of glitzy clubs will make this area popular with anyone looking for a night out.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This lovely twin arch bridge initially from the Edo shogun period is the point from which all distance is measured in Japan - it is mile zero. It is worth a little time to enjoy bronze lion-like kirin sculptures.

Nihonbashi Bridge holds its charm with its unique design and statues, offering a glimpse into history. However, the modern addition of an elevated road above it slightly diminishes the bridge's traditional beauty. While the bridge itself remains intriguing, the juxtaposition of old and new can evoke mixed feelings, as a symbol of heritage shares space with contemporary infrastructure.

This famous stone bridge is the birthplace of Tokyo. Built in 1603, the bridge was declared the starting point of 5 key routes across Japan.
Even today, seven national roads are measured from here. A metal plate in the road marks the exact spot where all distances are measured.
The bridge is decorated auspiciously with statues of mythical Kirin creatures.

The Nihonbashi bridge is a historic bridge. The original wooden bridge had burned down many times over the centuries, and fireproof granite was chosen for the latest reconstruction in 1911. It is one of only two surviving Meiji-era bridges in the city; the other being the Tokiwa bridge. Unfortunately, most people pass without noticing it.

A historic marker in the central Tokyo area. The bridge is said to have been built in 1603 and was the starting point for measuring distance from Tokyo. It survived World War 2 and another bridge was built over it for the Tokyo Olympics in 1964. The bridge is clean and even the waters are clean.

A historic bridge at the beginning of every road.
The highway that passes up was build when the last Tokyo Olympics were held.
An interesting sight that can only be seen now.
I'm really looking forward to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics!

すべての道路の始まりにある歴史的な橋。
過ぎ去る高速道路は、最後の東京オリンピックが開催されたときに建設されました。
今しか見られない面白い光景。
2020年の東京オリンピックを本当に楽しみにしています!

A beautiful bridge located in the Nihonbashi area near the KM 0 marking in Tokyo. It has beautiful ornaments and lamps. Still bright even when it's already evening.
