Top ways to experience Ginza
The area
Neighbourhood: Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi
Ginza is famous for being a trendy hotspot, but it's also a downtown area with shops that were founded over a hundred years ago. Department stores and luxury boutiques line the route from Nihonbashi to Ginza. It's a long established tradition to shop and stroll while the road is closed to traffic. Luxury hotels, world class cuisine from talented chefs, and a collection of glitzy clubs will make this area popular with anyone looking for a night out.

    Ginza
If you are in the Ginza area on Sunday, this is a great time to take advantage of the "walking street" that becomes available until 6 pm. I Walking down the main street is a great way to visit the many restaurants and shops in the area and helps break up the crowd. The Ginza area has something for everyone, from the bright neon lights and high end stores to the local back alley restaurants and shops. Definitely worth a visit of a few hours or more.

A favourite part of Tokyo. Love the atmosphere.
Nearly every city has one. Designer names, beautiful roads and a place where the rich come to shop. Ginza however, stands out for me. There is something about the atmosphere, the beautiful architecture of the buildings and just observing the fashion of the elegant Japanese ladies that I love. Nice to browse even if it is out of your budget. Amongst the luxury designer names, you can also find lovely boutique shops and well-known Japanese brands like MUJI. There are also a host of eateries. A breath of fresh air from the busy streets of Shinjuku and Shibuya.

    Absolute Tokyo gem
Ginza is an absolute Tokyo gem, among my favorites. It's a place where time seems to stand still as I immerse myself in its cafes, shops, restaurants, and iconic department stores. Every visit to Tokyo is incomplete without dedicating a few days to Ginza, a hub of culture and luxury. It's where I can truly savor the essence of this vibrant city, and I could happily spend endless days discovering its treasures.

    Very fancy!!
I happen to be one of three siblings and one of two men in the family and so whenever I go to the mall my dad and I have to sit in our misery while my sisters go shopping for perfume and ladies clothes!! I happen to enjoy going to stores where I can actually buy things!! I had two classes at TUJ today and I decided to live life and go here!! I went out of the subway and there was a mall full of French companies like Dior and Louis Vuitton and it made my global city fandom skyrocket!! I went to two stores to get souvenirs and I also got a donut from a place near the subway!! It was very fun to walk around!!

Loved Ginza, can't visit Tokyo without visiting
There's no need to shop, and the window shopping and people watching is pretty incredible. Amazing retail experience, high end brands and so many people. It's quite incredible with a great view of the huge Uniqlo store from atop the garden level on the roof opposite. I don't think anyone should visit Tokyo without visiting Ginza.

A good place to stay as it is near all the high end shopping which is an experience in itself. Generally a taxi to any of amusement is easy to get. Try one of the more well known hotels to make life a little easier for airport taxis and getting assistance.

A vibrant and alive city. We felt very safe and were in awe of the lights and atmosphere. I’m not one for expensive brands, but still was delighted to wander the streets of Ginza, taking it all in.

Like 5th Avenue in New York, it is iconic and worth a look. Lots of expensive stores, with some less expensive on the periphery. Good for shoppers and people watching.

The 5th avenue of tokyo with many luxury stores and brands. Even if you’re not into overpriced stuff, there are many restsurants and cafes, and malls. Plus you can just take a walk and people watch

I recommend visiting because this neighborhood is besides Tokyo station and it is the most fancy neighborhood of Tokyo. Fancy international shops beside very traditional Japanese ones. Good restaurants.

While beautiful shopping area, all the stores are very high end and expensive. If you live in the states, you can find all these stores in any high end shopping area.
