Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We weren't planning on visiting here but could see something was going on, so we thought we'd head in. There was a ceremony with Shinto Priests chanting and burning things. The audience (we were the only foreigners) were also chanting...it was really lovely. Then, out of the blue, the shrine staff started throwing mochi at us from a balcony above...it was like a bunfight, but a lot of fun! Then people started queuing to get a bowl of something to put the mochi and then eat it.

We were really glad to have stumbled upon this lovely experience. The shrine itself it like most shrines. There's not much to note.

I like kitschy things so this fits the bill.

Pretty much all historic sites are reconstructions so I guess it’s the idea of how it looked back then?

Glad I went for my photo with the lions head

Located on Midosuji, Namba shrine is a shinto shrine in downtown Osaka. It is between buildings, and the shrine itself is a modern construction. There is nothing special to see. However, you can stop over during your taking walk and take a brief rest.

I will spend less than an hour in there.
Overall it is nice to see this site in the middle of the shopping district.
It is not big but got the right atmosphere without too many tourists inside in the afternoon.
