The Schwarzenberg Tomb
Sep. 2020 • Friends
A very remarkable place you should not miss when in South Bohemia.

The tomb itself is located in a beautiful park. You can park your car right next to it and then it’s not more than a five-minute walk. While the park is wheelchair accessible, the tomb is not.

Guided tours take 40 mins which is just enough.

The place is very nice even on a cold rainy day but it’s not very tempting to wander around. On a sunny day it must be beautiful, though.

THE MAUSOLEUM OF THE SCHWARZENBERGS
Aug. 2019
An interesting 19thC neo-Gothic mausoleum that is the final resting place of many of the Schwarzenberg family. Its design might perhaps have been influenced by a similar edifice at Windsor, England as one Schwarzenberg was heavily influenced by a visit to that country. Not sure that it is necessary to enter the Mausoleum as the ticket price for the guided tour is a little high unless you have a close interest in the history of this family: but it is worth seeing if you are enjoying a gentle stroll from the Town around the lake and through the woods.

Wonderful architecture and piece of noble history
Mar. 2018 • Family
Newgothic chapel built as a burial place for members of Schwarzenberg family. Looks like made from stones, but it is built by bricks and decirated as imitation of stones. In the basement several coffins with bodies of some members of noble family Schwarzenbergs. Last burial took place in years 30th of 20th century. Really worth to visit and see.

Outside visit
Feb. 2018
In winter no access to inside, perhaps in limited hours only. Nevertheless, deep impression to view this building.

Nice walk to an interesting place
Nov. 2017 • Couples
During our spa sojourn in Trebon we went for many walks, one of them led us to the Schwarzenberg Mausoleum. The walk around the western side of the pond Svet (=World) on its impressive massive dam with old oaks which are home to rare endangered great capricorn beetles with view on the facilities of the Trebon Fisheries Enterprise with reservoirs full of alive recently fished carps was pleasant during that sunny a bit windy autumn day... Despite not being big admirers of neo-gothic architecture, we loved the mausoleum with its nicely kept surrounding...and what was paramount nice - almost no visitors there because of the out-of-the-season timing.

Great
Mar. 2017 • Couples
The mausoleum is located in the park near to the Svet pond. The constractuin is laying on logs of oaks due to the wet land. Even the construction is older than 150 years, it is really very well done and will be there for a long time !

Interesting building
Oct. 2016 • Family
It's located in the midde of the woods, not far NW from Trebon.
Park by the entrance to the woods, then a short walk in well-maintained gravel paths lead you to the mausoleum.
We were there late in the day so it was closed.

Well taken care of and interesting tombs
Sep. 2016 • Friends
It takes 45 to 90 minutes to tour this site. It is well taken care of. The tombs are only accessible as part of a tour. It would be nice to have audio tours in multiple languages made available.
