Everyone will interpret this crawl differently, but my definition is all the station platforms having pubs (Stalybridge, Huddersfield, Dewsbury, Leeds, York) as well any excellent pubs which are within easy walking distance, as time allows. Personally, I prefer to devote a whole Saturday to it...More

Did this with a group of lads and it was great, the bars were friendly and really lovely ales but unfortunately we missed our last 2 stations out because of train strikes. Would recommend the ale trail but unfortunately train strikes really ruined this!!

The real ale trail is worth a two day stay in a hotel half way across. We were lucky to get stunning weather but it's good even if it's cold and wet. You will get the odd stag/hen idiots but all in all its a...More

What can I say - expensive crap service that you expect in a third word country- very poor - get your trains in order - you’re just arrogant that you think we should all put up with your inadequate service - come the revolution ☝️😡

Well worth experiencing.... We did Stalybridge to Leeds, returned the following day. There were a couple of groups of people on the same timing as us - but not in anyway busy. Buffet Bar in Stalybridge had amazing looking pies / pasties. We ate in...More

First time doing Real Ale Trail last weekend and really enjoyed it. It's a good laugh and something different, all the pubs are old fashioned type pubs. Train run every hour which is really good so you can have 1 or 2 drinks in each...More

Used to really enjoy this, but now has become overrun by drunk, shouty middle aged women and fancy dress 'lad' idiots. It's a real shame. Oh, and Dewsbury is the worst place on the planet.

Great for a large group trip out. Get on and off where you want and follow the crowds to the pubs. Some lovely pubs at slaithwaite and marsden. Used by public for general commute and feel sorry for any non pub crawl passengers, especially on...More

Depending on how long you have, I'd start in Huddersfield. Slaithwaite Marsden. Greenfield. Stalybridge. Two pubs in Huddersfield train station, both are excellent. Stalybridge is a must. Hope that helps.

You can just get on and off where you like if you have a ticket from one end to the other. However I've done the trip a few times so I've just found it best to buy on the train because you might not do every stop

Hi Joe, To be fair you'll struggle to do it all in one day if you go all the way to batley. I've done it a few tines...but only the full trip over two days. But by all means have a crack at it in one. I'd head over about... More
