The Hooked Rug Museum of North America collects, exhibits and preserves the heritage of hand-hooked rugs and artifacts used in the making of fibre art. It researches the history of this art, presents it in an accurate manner and also encourages future development of the art. As a registered charity the Hooked Rug Museum of North America operates without the purpose of gain. All monies generated are used for heritage preservation, educational purposes and to support the Museum's ongoing operational costs.

Don't miss this museum whether you hook rugs or not.. The hooking process is different from what I know...very intricate...the work and patterns are amazing...don't miss the one of the American presidents...most are done by locals of some reknown.....Nice hooked products in the gift shop..

I was very impressed with the museum. I have been there 3 times over the past 3 years and each time was completely different and just as enjoyable. I am not a rug hooker yet I was surprised by the incredible talent and designs.

While I had to talk my travel companions into visiting this museum (I am a rug hooker) they all came away inspired. The men were amazed at the artefacts that related to rug hooking, they enjoyed looking at all sorts of turn of the century...More

If you have any interest hooked rugs you owe it to yourself to stop. It is a one of a kind experience. Nice Noah's Ark.

Probably a bit more for the ladies, we visited this museum as a part of a Caravan Maritime tour. Well displayed historical prospective of a folk art evolving to a finer art form. The "hooked" potrraits of famous people in history was produced 100 stitches...More

I have been to this Museum a number of times and have found the staff, mostly volunteers, to be absolutely wonderful. I've attended a number of hook-ins as well as hooking courses. To be surrounded by all the beautiful hooked mats is a rug hookers...More

We almost missed this gem, literally backed up 150 feet. I am always complaining my husband isn't spontaneous when traveling, but he earned brownie points here. This museum keeps on going with well organized and beautiful pieces of history one interesting thing about the hooked...More
