Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My husband and I have wanted to cross the Simpson Desert for a while now. However, it is such a remote part of the world we thought it dangerous to go by ourselves, having no experience of the Simo previously. So we signed up to Paul Stafford's trip from west to east in June 22, meeting in Alice Springs. Im so glad we did. We were led by John, a Simpson desert veteran. It was a relief to be guided through the tracks as we did have to alter the journey to avoid bad track conditions and flooding at Birdsville. The desert crossing is something I will never forget - it gets under your skin. And the sun rises and sun sets - jaw dropping every single day. We were a diverse bunch of people from all walks of life and levels of 4WDing experience and much fun was had by us all. Highly recommended. We have signed up to another of Paul's adventures next year.

The tours from Tag Along Tours Australia are always well prepared and conducted. The West/East crossing did not go to plan due to the extensive rain in the inland and water coming down the Diamantina system due to extreme rainfall events in North QLD.
We did however travel deeper into the Simpson Desert via the Rig road and numerous other tracks. this resulted in long driving days but we did see more of the desert, including iconic spots like "The Lone Gum".
Our tour leader John worked very hard with Paul in the background to ensure a safe and adventurous outcome.
This was my third trip with Tag Along Tours Aust.

The sand dunes were alot of fun .. Big Red was a great way to test yourself before the tour started for the East to West journey. Dalhousie Springs were a great place to chill. John did a great job looking after us with all the weather damage and closures that had to be dealt with on the way. A great experiance for us and fantastic people on the tour.

Incredible 12 days with John as our guide. Traveling to remote places with peace of mind is a must to be able to truly relax and take it all in. It’s an incredible place and John and Trish were excellent guides. Safe, knowledgeable, reliable and super friendly. Thank you guys for a great trip. We met some awesome people and we look forward to 2023 doing the Cape 😎🤙👍

This was a wonderful trip from Alice Springs to Cunnamulla via the Simpson Desert with Paul Stafford from Tagalong Tours of Australia.
Paul is very experienced, well organised and knowledgeable about all the places visited. He includes lots of stops at all sorts of places, historical, geographical, scenic, all interesting. It is good to have all the planning including permits done by someone knowledgeable.

This is our second trip with Paul and Tagalong Tours and I would highly recommend his tours.

Thoroughly enjoyed the trip across the Simpson Dessert with friends and a great group of people, capably led by Paul Stafford of Tagalong Tours. With the administration of necessary permits and logistics taken care of by Tagalong Tours we were able to get in and enjoy the challenges of journey without fuss. Learn't a lot, saw a lot.Enjoyed it immensely.
