This was a wonderful trip from Alice Springs to Cunnamulla via the Simpson Desert with Paul Stafford from Tagalong Tours of Australia.
Paul is very experienced, well organised and knowledgeable about all the places visited. He includes lots of stops at all sorts of places, historical, geographical, scenic, all interesting. It is good to have all the planning including permits done by someone knowledgeable.

This is our second trip with Paul and Tagalong Tours and I would highly recommend his tours.

Thoroughly enjoyed the trip across the Simpson Dessert with friends and a great group of people, capably led by Paul Stafford of Tagalong Tours. With the administration of necessary permits and logistics taken care of by Tagalong Tours we were able to get in and enjoy the challenges of journey without fuss. Learn't a lot, saw a lot.Enjoyed it immensely.

A great life experience led by Paul Stafford. We were lucky to have a great group of people so it was easy to have a great time and enjoy the challenges of crossing the Simpson Desert.

This was my first tour with Paul Stafford of Tag a Long Tours of Australia. Paul is very professional in what he does and knows the Simpson very well. I’d recommend him to anybody considering a tag a long group. I’m very keen to do another trip With Paul his group.

This is the second Tagalong tour that we have done with Paul Stafford from Tagalong Tours Australia and it lived up to all our expectations. Although we were confronted with some weather issues Paul adapted and adjusted our trip across the desert to suit. We would highly recommend Paul and Tagalong Tours to any one wanting to do the Cape or Simpson Desert with someone who knows the local history and places to see and cares about the people he has with him.

If the Simpson Desert is calling you
Then there is one thing you must do.
Get Tag-a-long Tours on the phone
Put your kit together and off you roam.
Across the Gibber Plains
Where it's stoney and rarely rains.
Sliding in the desert dust
Keeping the foot down is a must.
Out in the back of beyond
New friends you'll be fond.
You'll hear stories of Burke and Wills
And drive up eleven hundred dunes just for thrills.
It's the ride on the dunes
Deep into the afternoons
That you will remember forever
So... go tag-a-long tours if you're clever.

Always wanted to do the Simpson Desert crossing but not on our own. Paul Stafford's Tagalong Tours was a fantastic way to achieve the crossing with the safety of a small group and Paul's excellent leadership and knowledge, not to mention his sense of humour. We learnt a lot from Paul and were extremely glad we went along with Tagalong Tours Australia. Can't recommend them highly enough.

Vielen Dank!

We did the Simpson Desert tour from West to East with Paul Stafford. The tour is perfect for everyone who loves 4wheeldrive tracks and cars. There are easier parts before and after the actual desert. The difficult ones are the dunes in the Simpson Desert (especially the last one, the Big/Little Red). Our Campgrounds were always great. There is the opportunity to upgrade to a cabin in Alice Springs, Birdsville, Innamincka, Noccundra and Cunnamulla. The wild camping in the Desert was a total highlight for us. We absolutely enjoyed the silent evenings/nights and the amazing starry sky. The campfire offered some warmth during the cold evenings and a great chance to get to know each other. Paul was a very qualified guide, he also showed us many sightseeing spots we would never have found without him. He always had helpful tips regarding the manner of driving, handling the gears and the balancing of the weight inside the car. Paul’s organization was exceptional, his technical knowledge is remarkable and after all he is always up for some jokes. He knows a lot of geographical and historical details about the region, the settlements and people.
All cars were all times connected with the radio, that made it possible to inform Paul of problems in real-time. Paul respected every drivers’ abilities and made sure no one was overstrained. Although we did the trip with an old Landrover defender, he got us through the desert unharmed and happy. The trip was exciting, adventurous and amazing. We very much appreciate Pauls commitment to make it a wonderful experience for everyone! Thank you so much!

Best Wishes
