Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The walk in the woods is very nice and makes for a good change from the heat and the barren landscape that Jordan is characterised by most of the year. But they have to work on the entrance fee system. Having to pay 6 JOD per person to take a walk of less then an hour is just ridiculous.

Enjoy great view of Ajloun forests.
If you are hiking lover, looking to spend couple of days exploring several trails around the place, then go for it. The lodges, facility setup as well as the staff/guides is perfectly serving that purpose.

I spent a weekend there with my boyfriend. It took us only an hour to get there by car from Amman, and most of the drive was spent in Jerash and Ajloun, so it was interesting.
We stayed in a bungalow, took a small walk in the woods and had dinner and breakfast there. The food was really delicious.
Our stay was generally very quiet and relaxing. And we enjoyed the privacy.
Gift shop had some nice things to take back home too.
On our way back to Amman we passed by the Soap House - the manager there received us at the door, was very friendly and shared with us info about the place and products made there.
All in all, highly recommended!

This site is run by The Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN) http://www.rscn.org.jo/ , booking with then had been very easy via the internet and the web page.
Ajloun is in the North of Jordan, Ajloun Woodland Reserve was easy to find, very well sign posted from the town of Ajloun.
The staff gave us a very warm welcome and showed us to our ‘Bungalow’. These are large tents, the tent could sleep three. The accommodation had showers and toilet blocks, a nature shop, restaurant and viewing deck. There were also five self contained ‘Cabins’ = bungalows next to the tents, I believe that these sleep 4 people. Our accommodation was basic, but very clean. The location was fantastic. We were 1200m above sea level. The woodlands consisted of small Oak, Pine, Carob and Pistachio trees. There are a few self guided walking trails and you can book to do a full days trail with a guide. According to the reserves literature there are wild animals such as Roe Deer, but the only thing I heard was a very loud Owl on the roof of our tent!

Less than one hour walking in the forest. Nothing special to see other than few trees mainly Ballot trees. The weather is good so many people bring their stuff and do their BBQ.

I have been there on June, 2018.
They have a very very nice view and a very good services, they serve a fresh food, a clean and nice cabins to sleep, I had sleep on deluxe cabin, it is really a wonderful experience. You will feel that everything there is from the natural, nothing is industrial.
Also I hope they'll get improve there services and the signs on the jungle pathways.
I recommend it to Jordan's visitors.

The reserve is one of a kind, in its location, staff, service... everything.
The views you wake up to are magnificent. The sounds of nature and silence are marvelous. The walks you do on your own are self realization time.
The staff are very welcoming, helpful, well informed and there for you any time you need them.
Absolute place to be visited once, twice, three, four... etc. time.

For all the people who have no idea of the area:
There is a new big centre for visitors. Its shortly before the huts and the old visitorcentre, you can see it on maps, its a big thing. In this centre they situated "The house of caligraphy" where you can buy also the soap of "Orjan soap house", which lies next to the centre. The building is modern architecture and there is a very nice outside area for a coffee or tea.
The house of caligraphy:
In the end its just a classroom but a very intersting lesson and you learn to write in different arabic caligraphy styles. You just have to tell the teacher what you want to learn, else she is a bit lost and shy. You can buy for some bugs a frame and go home with a nice souvenir.
The soap house:
Highly recommended for people who like ecological soap and want to learn how to do it. The women speak not so much english. But they explain it to you by showing the process. The soap is really good and I saw it in Amman for high prices.
Go to this place if you like nature and local products or are interested in caligraphy. Definitive a highlight in the north, in my opinion.

The view was very charming and relaxing.
I ate "Mansaf" and it was good. There are no much activities just the view.
Recommend it if you are looking for a good meal with a good view and fresh air.

The only non guided tour you can do is the Roe Deer Trail and it's not marked very well but it is nice and peaceful. Quite expensive at around JOD 9 for a tourist (have to pay more for guided walks and have to have a minimum of 4 pax). Would be nice to stay in the huts there and would definitely make it more worth while.

How much it ll cost to inter it ! And are they opening during the eid vacation !
Written 6 July 2016
Hi, sorry this reply didn't come sooner. They were open during Eid. We paid about JD5 each, but that was because of our Jordanian residency permits, I think. From memory, it was about JD10 each for my (non-Jordanian) parents.
