Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

In this little ancient countryside house, which served also as his family's tavern, on October 10th 1813 a legend was born. Yes, Giuseppe Verdi was born there. In every room of the house you'll find a little iPad with a little video (both in Italian and English) with explanations about facts and anecdotes.

This is the small, modest house in which the great composer was born in 1813. It's not really in Busseto but rather in Le Roncole, a tiny village nearby. It is a simple place where Verdi spent his childhood. Although he later went to Milan for a number of years, he always felt a special connection to his birthplace. This is affirmed by a sign across the road from the house, which quotes him: "Sono e saro' sempre un paesano delle Roncole," -- or -- I am and always will be a country boy from Le Roncole. For Verdi fans only, the house is definitely worth seeing on any tour through this area. For others it will have no special appeal or significance.

Anyone visiting Busseto is going there to follow Verdi's roots and get a feel of his historical path. So this should be the first step on the tour, as this is the humble cottage his parents rented when he was born. They don't warn you though that there are 'accompanied' tours only every 30 minutes so in order not to waste time, be sure you are there when it opens at 2.30 otherwise you will have to wait till 3. We got there at 2.35 with the door firmly locked and a notice saying to please wait as a tour is going on inside, which was very annoying. We were eventually let in 15 minutes later, and were allowed to go round on our own. HELPFUL TIP. Do reserve your Verdi Tourist card online and pick up at the tourist office in Busseto. With that you get reduced price entry tickets.

We visited with no one else anywhere to be seen. The ticket can include the opera house in Bussetto and the house of Verdi’s key supporter and father of his first wife.Antonio Barezzi. We bought the higher cost one. Each room has good signage and an audio commentary which really helps you to understand the humble background of this genius.
Although small we took nearly an hour to take everything in. Parking is free and easy nearby. Sadly the Church opposite was shut so we could not see the steps to the organ loft the young Verdi climbed each Sunday. Friends who had been years ago said that was well worth while after La Roncole.

This this the house where Giuseppe Verdi (the musician) was born. It is important to visit if you are curious about the biography of this genius of the 20th century.

Really enjoyed the interactive guide for Verdi's birthplace. It was set up so you could really imagine how is life was as a child. It was small and didn't take long to see.

This was a great start to exploring Verdi's early years. The museo is very nicely put together and brings to life what I have read in books.

This little museum was remarkably put together, complete with an English-speaking interactive electronic tour (included with admission). Seemed particularly geared to children because narrated by "young Verdi," but I (in my late 60s) enjoyed it too. If you are a Verdi fan, and a monoglot English-speaker, this is the best presented of the various Verdi museums in the area--especially since the others have little to no (or somewhat problematic--though they are trying!) accessibility in English. Very nice staff too.

Visiting Verdi’s birthplace is a moving experience and the excellent IPad guide is easy to use and most informative.

Nice place. Didn't go inside so can't say anything about that. But the atmosphere of the area, the village, was very nice. To see where il maestro Verdi grew up was interesting. And to see that the village is still very proud of it's son is nice too.
