Curracloe Beach is a regular holder of the Blue Flag Beach status. The dunes are currently the subject of an active conservation policy by Wexford County Council ensuring that this marvellous amenity and the plant and wildlife it contains, will be preserved for future generations. A nature trail runs through the dunes and continues for 5 km to Raven Point, passing through the beautiful peninsula which constitutes Raven Nature Reserve.

Of the many beaches I have had the pleasure of visiting, this is easily the most beautiful. Pristine, picturesque and peaceful. We walked and walked and it just got more varied and pretty as we progressed. Unusually, there is a green forest right up against the...More

Great location for the Ultimate Frisbee Championships! Also, one of the beaches used for the filming of the D-Day sequence in Saving Private Ryan, due to similarity to Omaha Beach in Normandy. A little cool and breezy in late September with a spot of rain,...More

One of the best beaches in Ireland, if not THE best, sandy beach. Great for a picnic, good parking, and even public toilets. Lovely walks close by in Ravenswood and also the site of Saving Private Ryan, filming.

This is the beach where the opening 20 minutes of the movie "saving Private Ryan" was filmed and it is easy to see why they chose it as, apart from it's similarity to the Beach in Normandy, it is totally unspoiled. There is none of...More

Well worth the 3 hour drive. Plenty of space. Beautiful sand. Shallow water. Surf school. 11km of sandy beach.

Very good soft sandy beach with plenty of surfing, though most preferred to go to either end. There is also a surfing school beside the free car park.

My favourite beach anywhere, winter and summer. None of the commercialism that you get at other beach resorts just unspoiled, beautiful miles of beach.

Rugged beauty.. Very little change from many many years ago.. Beautiful walks & strolls along a long stretch of beach.. There is a beach hut if you care to hire equipment for surfing & water activities and a cafe too..
