Fantastic Channel to visit and bike ride or walk along the Coast. Very Tricky to find hotel, most apps will send you to a fazer away other side of Elba river.

It's always a very nice experience to sit and watch al the boats passing through the Sluice in Brunsbüttel. Not something you see every day.

This is a small, but important canal, linking the North Sea with the Baltic Sea. There have been a number of canals since the first one in 1784 and the number of ships using the canal is the highest for any in the world.

1st time negotiating the Kiel Canal on a Fred Olsen cruise ship. Amazing technology watching ships of all sizes queue up (when busy) to enter through the huge canal gate and begin a journey of almost 70 miles seeing some stunning scenery.

We were on the Holland America ship Prisendam. I am not familar with what passes close by other than the canal.
