Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There is a deaf man who is about half-way down the Saturday walking street on the right side if you come in at the Gate. He has a sign with the price of the t-shirts as he can't speak. The shirts we found were the most reasonable in price - 100B for a CM style and more for another style. The shirts were not really thin like some others, but a decent weight. There is no bargaining, but the price is fair, especially when you compare to others.

Good prices and lovely artisans things, interesting food n drink

Nice and chip local market. Clothes, jewellery, food, etc. Nice to see where local thai people do the shopping.

I again went to the Saturday San kamphang walking street. I have been going when I am in Chiang Mai not that I buy a lot because I do not but because the locals are friendly and the atmosphere is fun. If you enter from the 1006 from Chiang Mai on a Saturday evening as the sunsets you will be surprised to find the Hi-way is shout down of a walking street. Sure there is a walking street every Saturday and Sunday in Chiang Mai but this is a market with a difference rather than being wash with Bangkok or Chinese tourists it is filled with locals young and old together just enjoying the cool of the evening air together.
It has a festive air about the place with many things to buy from the large section of second hand clothes from overseas, to hand made goods that you literally see some vendor making on the spot or even local produce and potted garden plants are for sale. The foods on offer are local delectation and sure to be something you have never seen or tried before.
It has games and thing for children of all ages to do and see.
So if you want to get off the beaten tourist tract be sure to check it out.

This market really gets going about 5pm but if you come a bit earlier you can have a look at the silver shops and temple as this is the silver district. Not as crowded as the Sunday market or as touristy as the night bazaar and plenty of reasonable quality clothes and food.

What a wonderful, brought and thriving Market this was. it was busy but the crowd kept moving along, different live music along the market. there was everything from pouches, wallets, soaps, perfumes, bags shoes clothes and so much food wonderful, beautiful food, sweets or savory. even as a Westerner I was able to look at the pictures and work out what food was, the smells amazing, you could not have a better Saturday evening immersed in Thai culture and it's free!

As indicated in the subject, it's worth to check it out if you are near, but you would be better off visiting the night Bazar. The waking street is really crowded and most of the goods sold are cheap souvenirs. You can find places to eat for every budget, but you have to be prepared to wait for your food due to the may people. You can find quite good deals on cheap t-shirts like for 50baht, if you need one.

I love visiting this market. I visit at least once when staying in the area. It's a local market with local produce, prepared food and crafts, along with the other commercial products available at any market.
I most enjoy simply strolling through the market taking in the sights and sounds. There are couple of small "street" restaurants that set up along the way which provide a good vantage point for watching crowds drift by.
