Sun Moon Lake is one of Taiwan's favourite tourist destinations. Sun Moon Lake is very picturesque, similar to West Lake in Hangzhou, mainland China. Try and get there early, before all the tour buses arrive, it also looks better in the morning. By the way,...More

Go with Nan To bus company if you don't want to pay twice the cost with tour groups. Plus you get to choose which package you want (to include cable car ride, boat ride, etc.) without the hassle of being part of a tour group....More

Nice place for cycling, hiking and relax from the busy city. Best to stay overnight than day trip so that you can spend more time to enjoy the place.

Our visit to Sun Moon Lake in April 2018 was much more than I expected. The local street food was excellent with a great range of choices and everything was so fresh and cheap including cold beers from the 711.

Smoggy when we were there so it didn’t look like the photos. You can cycle around. Towns on the lake are busy and tacky. You pay a lot for accommodation. Avoid during public holidays.

Rent a bike and cycle around the world's most beautiful bike path. The path was easy enough for my 7 year old son to ride on

Just sit back, relax and enjoy the breeze, the sun, the view...Take the boat ride for island hopping and do try the Herbal Boiled Egg at Yuang Guang Shi. It's very fragrant though the egg is a bit smaller than usual size
