- Steven SPattaya, Thailand782 contributionsA unique experienceI initially thought the light show involved actual light globes but it is a video that is projected on the floor area. Shows are at 11am, 3pm and 8pm and lasts for 15 minutes. Certainly something unique for the inside of a train station.Visited November 2023Travelled soloWritten 7 November 2023
- LeonhknyHong Kong, China21,484 contributionsFace of modern KaohsiungThis is a glass artwork at Kaohsiung's major metro station. The Dome of Light, as its name hints, adds color and dynamics to the modern face of the Taiwanese port city. It is also the perfect role model of urban design. Tourists can't really miss this place.Visited January 2024Travelled with familyWritten 14 January 2024
- Travelove5815,579 contributionsNothing extraordinary but still worth a look....The Kaohsiung Metro network is very small. So no issue just dropping by have a look, on the way to somewhere else. The colours & arts do make the station looked different from others. But it is basically just an art in stain glass. Nothing extraordinary though.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 12 March 2024
- ZimminaroundtheworldOkinawa Prefecture, Japan1,970 contributionsPretty, Interesting, Not a MustThe Dome of Light is a nice attraction especially if you are going to this subway station. I had a hotel nearby so I was in and out constantly. The lights are pretty there are even a few light shows throughout the day. But if you are short on time and nowhere near the station, I don't recommend it. It's pretty and all but not a must visit.Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 13 September 2024

This dome is inside Formosa MRT Station and is a large installation featuring a stained glass roof depicting the four ancient elements is a mythical creation scene. It’s very pretty and looks amazing in a photo.

We were lucky that we stayed right at Formosa Boulevard station and got the chance to enjoy the beautiful stain glass everyday when we took the MRT.
On an off peak time, there is hardly any tourist taking pictures and is a very pretty sight!

There are 4 places to visit on this station.
1) Exit 3: Head south from exit 3 about 100m, you will come to a famous BBQ Sausage shop, 黑橋牌. Awesome sausage. You can't find it anywhere else.
2) Exit 3: Head east from exit 3 about 50 meters, you will find a local food strip, 南華市場. Some interesting food stalls here
3) Exit 1: Famous LiuHe Night Market
4) Exit 1: Several good food stalls worth visiting. It is always packed with locals so you know the food is good.

This was fantastic.
Representing Earth, Light, Water and Fire (although fire seemed to be most represented), there are so many individual images for you to look at, try to work out and just comprehend how trippy this is. Some images are frightening, others are heart-warming.
Situated on the Formosa Boulevard station. I literally spent over an hour looking at it and taking photographs. 30meters in length and covering over 600 sq meters. There is so much to see. I read that this stop was rated the 2nd most beautiful subway-tube station in the world by some travel website (the first being a stop in Moscow).
Its free. Its location is very central and chances are if you are touring around the city you will pass by anyway. Pay it a visit.
The central park stop is worth a look too.
