There's a exhibition about tea making. If you want you can learn something about tea ceremony and different kinds of tea. There's free tea for all (head to the left at the entrance, there's a tap and a store with mugs)

It’s about a 20 minute walk from the gondola station past a number of tea houses. We were there midweek offseason. There was almost no staff there and no information given in English. Yes, there was free hot tea offered - but it wasn’t labeled in either Chinese or English - and clean restrooms. You can catch the #15 bus just outside to go down and avoid the walk back to the gondola station.

A good place to visit if you are making a trip to Wenshan. Do note that you may not be charged for tea but those serving tea are actually local farmers whose farms are inaccessible and are allocated a schedule by the government at the centre to promote their tea.
Do not take advantage of them! Do buy from the farmers if you really want to help their community.
Additional activity: You can buy fish feed at NT10 and feed the overweight kois while enjoying the scenery.

We enjoyed dropping in here again when we were up in the area. The staff were friendly and we liked trying so tea for free.

My wife and I walked into the Tea Center and the best thing about it was the fact it had a bathroom. There wasn't anyone helpful at the center. I recommend just going into the tea shops nearby. My wife and I went to a great tea shop just past the Tea center where every one there was really friendly. I couldn't read the name but it was a three story large shop where you have to climb some stone stairs just around the corner of the Tea Center.

This place offers free Chinese tea experience without you need to purchase any tea. Nice garden at the back and clean toilets. There are tables with breathtaking views.

Great gondola ride here. A short walk from the station lies this gem of a place. It's so peaceful and everyone loves feeding the fish. Even more... There's free tea for everyone. Just make sure you take a cup from the clean shelf not the used shelf like I did. If your in the area give this place a go.

The Tea Promotion Center is ~ 20 min walk from the Gondola stn. It is a nice spot to take a rest, go use the clean restrooms & sample a cup of tea. The small museum (free) has a few harvesting equipment & displays showing how the tea are harvested & processed. Outside in the courtyard, there is a small garden (self-guided) trail showing the different types of tea plants. You cab buy fish food ($10ntd/bag) to feed the koi fish in the indoor pond. The koi fish will follow you around waiting for treats. The facility has a wheelchair accessible lift.

The visitor centre, is really only one room showing you how tea was made in the past and how it is made now. The best part is the free tea tasting from one of the local tea growers. We sat with them for 30 mins sampling different types of tea. Very kind people, excellent tea.

Great to see how tea is made and you're also able to try some of it. It's a bit far away compared to the other places but I'd say it's worth it- there's also a "healthy trail" which is very nice just out on the opposite side of this place.
