The area

Neighbourhood: Sanzhi / Shimen District
Neighboring mountains and sea shores, the natural environment is beautiful with natural Baisha (White Sand) Bay formed by Cape Fugui and Cape Linshanbi. The coast is clear and shallow as a mirror with dunes dotting the beach. The uncanny natural sceneries are a result of early volcanic eruptions. The running lavas cooled to form the unique trench landscape of the famous Laomei Green Reef in April and May, within Shimen. The rock trenches are covered in green algae, forming breathtaking emerald green wonders and landscapes. Sanzhi, with its crescent-shaped beach coastal scenery, crystal blue ocean and clean white clouds creates a south island atmosphere unique to summer. Taste the delicious meals on banks in nearby feature cafes and enjoy the soft blow of light winds. Every year during autumn harvest, the “Water Bamboo Festival” is held for the Sanzhi feature farm produce. There will be DIY experiences, and kitchen events acting as a farmer for the day, not only getting to know the Sanzhi water bamboo but also tasting creative dishes!

Driving from Jinshan to Wanli, you can see this natural sea cave on the roadside.
There is a parking space
There are also planned trails nearby
There is a staircase above the cave to enjoy the sea view.
There is some shell sand under the cave for children to play with
But the weather is not good today, it's drizzling and drizzling
So the winds and waves are also strong
The weather is too cold to walk along the coastal trail and enjoy the scenery.
it is a pity

My main plan is to visit JuMing Museum by taking the North Coast Shuttle Bus (TWD200/one day pass/person) because it allows me to hop on and off the bus for one price. The Shuttle Bus starts at MRT TamSui and I was there before 9am to take the 9am bus. But turned out JuMing Museum doesn't open until 10am and therefore the 9am bus skips the Museum. So I decided to still board the 9am bus and just hop off on some of the interesting stops.
This is one of the stop: Shimen Cave / Shimen Dong
The "Cave" is more like a natural archway to the coast area, it's very easy to spot after getting off the bus stop. There is steps to go on to of the archway which allows you to see 360 view of the area. It is an open area on the left for sitting down with a walkway on the right leading to the small temple at the end of the road.
The Shuttle Bus comes every hour (winter schedule) and I had more than enough time to walk around this area.
... I didn't explore on what to eat/drink here, but I did regret not packing any food with me to eat while enjoying the sea view

The cave was by the beach, took tonnes of photos at the so-called arch overlooking the blue sea. If you walk further out, you will come to a bridge on the coast. It was another great photo spot. Go across the bridge and you will come to the greatest photo spot. At the end of the bridge, there was a huge piece of rock hit by wave all year long, sit comfortably on the rock and have someone take a photo of you with the blue sky and blue wave behind you. Amazing place to visit on a not so hot late afternoon, take some Instagram worthy photos.

An impressive arch set slightly back from the water. You can climb steps to the top. It is worth taking some time to stroll around.

Took a day trip to Beitou, Yangmingshan and on the way to Tamsui went to Shimen Cave which is located at the most northern point of Taiwan Island. The stone arch is a natural formation & long ago regarded as the northern-most gate to Taiwan Island. Do walk out to the small bridge facing the ocean, very refreshing.
