Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Baseball is Taiwan's national game, and the fans love it. At the game, the enthusiastic fans chant, sing, dance and make lots of noise. The star players are national heroes. The Chengcing Lake Stadium stadium is in easy reach of Kaohsiung, it's a great night out. There's always lots of action.

This is the home stadium of the Taiwan Steel Hawks.
You can get there from Kaohsiung Station by bus number 60.
On the way back, there are fewer buses and there are hardly any taxis, so
it's a good idea to check before going to the stadium.
There was a staff member at the ticket booth who could speak Japanese.

As I've been informed, there are only 4 teams in the league. So you better be cheering your heart out with all the local diehard fans.
Pick a team and start chanting with everyone. You'll get the hang of it, its blasting through the speakers. The atmosphere is fantastic.

Went for the baseball and stayed for the entertaining fans. My brother has lived in Kaohsiung for over 10 years and even though an avid Blue Jays fan had never been to a game here. We are here visiting for a week and thought it would be a cool experience.
The baseball is ok. Saw 5 batters in that game get struck by errant pitches, tons of full counts and the game took over 5 hours to complete.
But- the crowd is amazing. It was 35C and 90% humidity but they're all up and dancing and singing and cheering.
Go once just for the local experience.

Chengcing Lake Baseball Stadium is one of my favourite places to watch baseball in Taiwan. Access from central Kaohsiung via the 60 or 30A buses from the bus station - takes about 40 minutes. I've been here 3 times, to see my team Uni Lions (I live in Tainan and the Lions are Tainan's team). Seen the Lions win twice here, my most recent visit was 9th June 2016. Decent selection of both western and local food, at reasonable prices.
Admission is 400 dollars for an infield seat and with most games here attracting under 5000, your guaranteed a good view.
