Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This temple is the first on the way to Taroko. I went at 10am and it was very peaceful. From the temple you have a wonderful view of the gorge. When you are there you can take the suspended bridge and walk up to the bell tower. At the top of the tower you can appreciate the beauty of the area and a great view of the temple.

This temple is really big. It's really exciting on most weekends, they have many tour buses that come on the weekends and will do many rituals. During the week there aren't too many people around. During festivals they will have fireworks and at times lots of food carts. If you're into Chinese temples definitely stop and take a look.

Through every fault of my own, I didn't allow nearly enough time to visit this rambling complex of temples. A bit out of the main area of Hualien, this is not just another Taiwanese Temple and is well worth checking out. For me, it's the most interesting sight in the whole city. Very gaudy, with clearly many recent paint jobs, this multi leveled temple has some fascinating nooks and corners and many shrines of different styles and of course, many Gods. Some of it is very quirky, but none of it should be over looked. Next door is a more traditional Chinese style temple, which is beautifully ornate and detailed. Alas, you'll need a couple of hours to explore both fully and I had only allowed 30 minutes. Such a shame.

This large temple is dedicated to Wang Mu Goddess of Heaven. There are also lots of Gods and Goddesses here, which are verging towards animism. Local people would come here to pray for luck of all kinds. This is a large complex and for those of you that are unfamiliar with Asian culture, this place would be interesting to visit. That being said, you would need local people to explain to you the rites and the protocols to pray. Should you are lucky enough, from time to time, you would get to witness the rites of "visiting" Gods and Goddesses that are from other Temples. They would be brought here to "stay overnight" and then, they would be carted away again the following day by the faithful. Normally, the music would be blaring and they would be loud firecrackers to announce their arrival.

This temple is quite nice ans actually bigger than expected. We wandered through in the afternoon so it was not so busy. Next to the temple there is like a garden which you can also visit.
