Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

When it is sunny, you'll have a nice trip.

One would expect this to be a lake and a beach, but it is neither. The seashore is rocky, but it has some nice pebbles. Unfortunately, you can't take them home. However, there's a good bicycle path.

Qixing Lake Binhai is not exactly a lake or a beach. The lake was filled in years ago. The beach is rocky and not good for swimming, but the rocks have interesting colours. Unhappily, you are forbidden to take them home. The sea-side, however, is a good place for a leisurely bicycle ride. Binhai Road should not be confused with Binhai Road in Dalian, in north-eastern mainland China.

This summer I went cycling from Hualien to Taichung, passing through a number of scenic and tranquil green tunnel along the waterfront and the ride between Liyutan and Qixintan was one of the most cozy and undisturbed one. It was a hot summer morning and there were a handful of joggers running along the green tunnel with some cyclists having a lazy morning comfortable ride. The tunnel was heavily shaded by trees and we can enjoy the summer breeze along the scenic spots. Surely it's a appetizing and tempting adventure to end with an iced cold coconut water or BBQ pork from those vendors.

Nice for a short break for the busy city life. For westerners, be warned, not particularly scenic, but a break from the usual. Nothing exciting to report on this.

This beach is not for swimming, strong waves, it's nice for relaxing at the beach, walk or cycle along it or even walk your pets. The beach is covered with colourful rocks/ stones, they look fancy, but you are not allow to collect them. This is not a sandy beach, I repeat. You can also buy something to eat nearby or have a family picnic here. People do sell rocks at the beach and remember to keep the receipt as proof if you ever buy any. Kite flying is also common here.

It is really a beautiful beach!
When you sit in the sand beach looks to the Pacific Ocean. The rough wave are whipping the shore continuously; The flying fish jumps over the ocean. Here makes people tranquil. You also may stand in the shore. When the wave flows your foot you will feel relax. In addition, there are many young stall keepers on the side, you may looks the seashore and eats the thing, it is wonderful! Chishingtan also sets up the bike path, you may ride the bicycle along the coastline, admiring the scenery along the road.
It is a the most beautiful that I even been! Don’t forget your camera! You will regret it!

A great way to explore Hualien city is by cycling to the beach and back. Be sure to apply sunblock, as the sun can be brutal after hours of biking.
