This has been one of the biggest disappointments of my life. We were looking forward to see an amazing waterfall because we had heard it was one of the most beautiful of Europe and it was definitively not like that. First of all, the area...More

It's one ofe the most amazing waterfalls! It's easy to reach, they offer a parking place at aproximately 500 m.

Another great place in Romania, but which, as usual, is not well known by Romanians. This waterfall is rated by National Geographic as the # 1 waterfall in the world. Although it is located on the edge of a road, there are parking lots (approximately...More

When you think of a waterfall, usually what springs to mind is something that is grand. The size of this waterfall is very underwhelming. Firstly, parking is a few hundred metres up the road. There's a private car park that charges 10 lei. You then...More

the waterfall itself is nice. But the atmosphere there is terrible for me. It is very crowded, there are parkings and a lot of buses stop there. There are also booths where you can get traditional food (like mici and kurtos). You can also buy...More

As a waterfall lover I did find it fantastic and special, even though some people say it's overrated. BUT, the best views of the waterfall are from the road even before entering the actual site where you need to pay. you can see the top...More

The waterfall is about 8 meters high, and it's covered with a green layer of moss. It is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Romania, being unique in the way the water falls over the rock. The waterfall is amazing and a must see!

We made 2 hours trip from Valiug to see the waterfall. We were a little disappointed: we saw many more beautiful waterfalls in Romania, to mention just Duruitoarea in Ceahlau, Valul Miresei from Stana de Vale and Ruset and Vanturatoarea from Valea Cernei. If you...More

We visited on our way home from Drobeta Turnul Severin and we were impressed with this beautiful mushroom shaped waterfall! The waterfall is smaller than we expected, but the place is beautiful. If you pay the tax (5 lei) you can enter and make beautiful...More

A portion of the road is indeed a bit winding, but in a good condition and not really unsafe if you drive carefully. The place is also way less crowded than in the summer. Overall, I think it's worth going even in March... More

Best thing is to hire a car although there might be some coach companies that offer trips to Bigar waterfall from Bucharest. Roads are very good to get there and plenty to see on the way.
