I believe everyone who has visited this Attraction before is impressed that it is hot, sunny and boring.

Didn't think of trying to walk over the eight arc bridge, after climbing the lighthouse, and feel completely transformed, this is a Recommendation trail.

After the eight arc bridge, view the entire coastline from the island to the island of Taiwan, the magnificent mountain sea scenery to the bottom.

Keep going forward can walk up the lighthouse, although the path is not easy, but the hard work of climbing the top is definitely worth it.

The whole walkway starts from the parking lot, walk slowly, halfway rest, takes about 2 hours.

Took a East Coast Line from Taitung Bus Station.
Single trip cost 192NTD from taitung bus station to sanxiantai.
So I bought their day trip ticket at 299NTD on the bus from the bus driver. Don't worry if you don't have exact amount, they provide change. It's about 1.5hrs ride. I took the earliest bus at 7.20am at the taitung bus station reached at 9am.
They've a bus schedule. So try to time yourself well.

Toilet, a cluster of food, souvenir shops are available. Resting area is available too.

Windy place, I wouldn't say it's cold. I just wore teeshirt and bermudas when i was there.

Beautiful place to be. Easy to navigate.
I was done with exploring the area within 2hrs and even had time for a cup of coffee!

Definitely worth the time!

If you are doing a roadtrip along Taiwan's east coast than you definitely should stop here. There is a lot more to explore than you think. At the visitor centre they do the typical Aboriginal dancing that you see at touristy centres. You are bound to see lots of mainlander Chinese here, but if you keep walking past the arched bridge, you will start to lose the tourist and it will get quieter. Most of the Chinese just make it to the bridge, some don't even cross it.
Once across the bridge, keep walking around the area and soak in the views. It's as if you can stare at the ocean with nothing before you. Go ahead and climb up the big rocks til you get to the lighthouse at the top. It's worth it!

If you can please visit this place. Nice to walk the bridge to the other side of the island. Even better when the weather is nice. Great views of the east coast of Taiwan.

This was a fun little break in our driving trip. South of here it was difficult to find easily accessible beaches where you can walk and hang out enjoying the sea views. We were amused that the rocky beach was aptly named "pebble beach". The bridge was a fun walk - the entire trip over the bridge and around the little island can take a couple of hours, but we just walked across the bridge and back - very leisurely and were finished in under 45 minutes. It has quite a few stairs up and over each hump of the bridge, so be aware if that is a concern.

A great hike over the eight "humps" to get on the little island to get to the lighthouse. Provide at least 2 hours to fully explore the area.

Sanxiantai consists of a headland facing a small island in the sea. The three huge rocks that make up the island’’s most prominent feature have given rise to a local legend that three of China’’s Eight Immortals once landed there; hence the name of the island, which means ““terrace of the three immortals.””. The island was once connected to the headland by a neck of land which has been eroded away; it is now connected by a red, scalloped footbridge, and the island has a network of footpaths for viewing its geological features such as potholes and sea-eroded caves and trenches, as well as rare coastal vegetation. The island is surrounded by coral reefs and a multitude of tropical fish, making this an ideal spot for scuba diving.

It was the bridge who took our interest at first. But when we arrived and found out that the bridge connects the bay with small island, real fun starts. We spend more than 3 hours exploring the paths, enjoying the coastal views, even visiting the big cave-tunnel and climbing to the lighthouse with a great view... The way to go is taking the east coast touring bus. One day pass costs 250 NTD.

This is one of the more scenic place to visit if you are touring the east coast of Taiwan. When we were there and although it was hot under the afternoon sun, the place was always breezy. Beware the potential of getting sun-burn under the afternoon sun if you stay too long on the curved bridge or on the pebble filled beach!

It was also not easy to find decent place for lunch when touring the east coast between Taitung and Hualien. Either do some take-away lunch or be prepared for empty stomach if you are very particular on having a clean and nice restaurant to have your meal while touring the east coast region!

Loved the hike out to island! Beautiful views! Lots of steps on the bridge but definitely doable if you are taking lots of pictures.
