The main attraction is the old Tait & Co Merchant house and its adjacent warehouse which now has multiple Banyan tress growing through it. We found the museum to be really disjointed with the timeline of exhibits not following a defined path. The warehouse had multiple platforms and raised walks from which you can view the encroached trees on the fabric of the old building. This is quite well done but views are quite limited. We had expected a little more from this attraction. Not sure if it worth the effort of making the trip from Central Tainain for this alone.

Formerly the offices of Tait & Co. Merchant House and then owned by a famed calligrapher Ju Jiou Ying. The house museum dedicated to his works is interested, but unless you happen to be Taiwanese and know about calligraphy, you'd probably be more interested in the famed tree house. This is a part of the grounds where the tree have overgrown into the building structures, providing photogenic opportunities.

Anping Tree House is an interesting site. A former warehouse occupied by trees. Opening hours are 8.30am to 5.30pm and entry is NTD $70. The site is beautiful and well maintained. It is a bit slippery during summer rain so you have to watch your step. If you are lucky, there may also be a free guide presenting the site in Chinese to tourists. It is worth listening to the story, though the English descriptors boards share the same story too. There is a bridge you can go up to view the city landscape that is nice. The is also a Tait and Co old building that contains old artefacts and most important is air conditioned. I also personally like the coffee house that is cosy and allows one to relax with a nice hot drink. The only negative experience for the visit is the mosquitos are the open area that are aggressive in attacking, especially in summer. Hence it is important to either bring insect repellent or wear long pants.
