I went to this temple with 2 kids (5 and 7 years old) . I was standing in queue from morning 4.30 am . But it didnt move to main entrance till 9.30. My kid becomes sick and went out to taking care of my kid. I went 15th aug ,public holiday. Its very crowded. Temple administration should organise devotees properly who come along with kids or elders. Individual poojaris who took money from devotees and let them enter first into temple. I am totally exhausted because this. After long travel of 6 to 7 hours , more than 5 hours in queue, unable to see god. Very bad experience. Better i can suggest avoid taking kids and elders to this temple, try to give money to poojaris and see god .

We got the best of the Dharsan and inside the temple has a very holistic feel.
First of all, they should not charge and make money out of Dharsan. If at all they make money, the same is to be invested back in crowd management, hygiene and sanitation aspects and bringing in regulations in keeping the place with at-most cleanliness.
Every one around there is available at the entrance to public area outside to make money and none of them carry a badge or some kind of identity which is making many irrelevant people around steeling and making money. Govt. of Tamilnadu should take corrective steps in the upkeep of the place. It simply stinks all around.
If they have more cows, they should formulate a gowsalsa and take very good care of animals. They can then allow pilgrimage to visit where you can collect money over tickets.
No of street stalls are to be regulated. The quality of food served by each of the vendors are to be checked for hygiene, FSSAI standards and the source in which these food are made.
We have temples which are so holistic and historic in nature but they are to be protected carefully and thoughtfully by this generation for the next generation to follow.
Hope the govt. takes these points positively. Because it hurts when you see all such around.

It's horrible overcrowd. Most local administration does not know language other than Tamil. Shame that most of them don't know our national language being part of Bharat. Dirty environment. If one can connect to Murugan from within than visiting such temples it will be better. The trust here should learn from successful trusts like Shirdi Sansthan, BAPS about how to keep temples clean and manage crowd effectively

This is one of six Arupadai Veedu temples dedicated to Lord Muruga. A Very beautiful temple on the sea shore. Before going for worshiping Lors Sentil Aandavar, the tradition is first to take a bath in the sea in front of the temple. this is a very nice experience. the depth is not much, but the waves at times very powerful. Please note, there is no Life Guards. After taking bath in the sea, you have to go to the Naali Kinaru, near the shore. Steps will lead you down to the natures wonder. There you can see a small stone carving with about one foot deep hole. You can see clean soft water in it. This water is like drinking water. You get this good water very near to the sea, plus the hole gets filled up immediately after taking a bucket full of water. At the same time it is not over flowing at any time.

A powerful Lord Murugan temple with lots of positive energy.Had a great time in the temple, felt light hearted after worshipping Subramanya Swami.you will get good darshan. One of the most divine temples in South India. Awesome to see the sun rise in ocean. The beach just added beauty to temple. You can take bath & spend time in the beach. If you want to worship without any rush visit the temple on week days afternoon 3 pm.

A very old and powerful Lord Muruga temple right on the sea shore.Old intricate architecture and carvings with renovation in progress. The special entry tickets of ₹100/- takes around 1 1/2 hours on a regular day with no one to regulate nor guide.Men have to enter the temple without upper garments.Cameras / mobiles are prohibited inside the temple. There is an old tradition of having a bath in the sea, followed by the temple bathing and then entering the temple. The inside of the temple gets too humid, hot and stuffy with suffocation.
The darshan of the main deity is rushed through. But definitely Lord Muruga is divine and powerful with a serene calmness post the darshan.Huge crowd for temple food too. There is no temple prasadam available except for the food. The paths outside are uneven and littered with stones. Beach and also surroundings is too dirty and littered with trash.

A serene seashore murugan temple. This is the one and only Murugan temple out of 6 padai veedu located on the even surface and not on mountain. You can have his blissful dharshan of subramanya swamy and enjoy the vast sea view.

One of the top rated Murugan temple, only one on a sea shore in a sprawling complex. Visited the magnificent and majestic temple of Lord Murugan last week and to be honest, very much disappointed with the way temple is run. Lot of scope for improving cleanliness, queue management and arranging all sign boards in English too. Several improvements are very much required in this ISO certified temple.

One of the SIX ADOBES of LORD MURUGA (subramanya) tiruchendur stands tall in all aspects compared to the other 5 temples.
1. Only temple on sea shore.
2. Really it is clean, clean, clean every where.
3. No beggers on the premises.
4. No much robbery on the wording of rituals by priests. (ofcouse very few approach you for special dharshan etc etc.)
5. Well supported with hotels and lodgings. (Devasthanam provides shelters at much cheaper rate & it is really good).
6. food is also provided by them at nominal rate at their own restaurant.
7.Beach is well maintained compared to other places in tamilnadu.
Recomendation:
1. Temple is open from morning 5 am to evening 9 Pm. no closing time between.
2. Gents need to remove top dress like shirts and banian
3. Inner prahara has the temple for VALLI & DEWASENA sani separate temple
4. Outer prahara is not for access.
5. Valli Cave is interesting due to the small entrance.
6.Wheel chair for disabled and battery operated car for aged is provided at free.
7.Free Foot ware stand at 3-4 places.
8. Dress changing room 2 places are provided.
Dont do
1. Dont carry plastic bags as they are not allowed inside the temple. (Boards are every where mentioned)
2. Dont Pay more than Rs.1 at Valli Cave. (as priest demand some time).
3. Do Not litter on the sea side sitting arrangement. ( Every 5 min they are cleaning it).
4. Festival time like PANGUNI & SURA SAMHARAM is very dangerous as the road approaching to temple is very narrow.
5. Demand hotel person to show the room before paying as they are not as per words.

money speaks in this temple...
Similarly I went for 1st dharshan. The poojaris are waiting to grab money from everyone who comes there. The people who bribe more are taken and allowed to sit before god for a longer duration ..temple authorities must take this matter seriously...the poojari who gives u vibhoothi first asks money then only he will give vibhoothi..i purchased a vip ticket of 250 rupees as i went solo.the poojaris forced me to have quick darshan..other people who bought 100 rupees ticket were made to sit down and have darshan as they had poojari with them..for rs 250 they does't provide u any prasadam..every temple in tamil nadu are very old...but money speaks..in tiruhendur temple for archanai only this poojaris ask u 50 rupees...i have visited so many temples but in tiruchender money speaks....so devotees be carefull..temple location and beach is good..but this poojaris are destroing the re
