Whilst it might make you huff & puff, it is worth every step. The trail is well maintained, albeit lots of steps, the views are superb. When they say to watch the kids at the top - they mean it - and for those taking selfies on the edges, at the top - maybe ask yourself if the 6 second tour to the bottom is worth it?? Fabulous!

While the views are really spectacular once you get to the top, be aware that this is challenging for anyone with mobility issues. I went with my daughter who is an avid hiker/mountain climber and she underestimated how difficult this would be for me.

It took us almost 1 1/2 hrs as I have difficulty with stairs and didn't realize there were so many. That being said just over 2 years ago I was using a walker most of the time so I guess if I can do it, most seniors can. Make sure you wear proper foot wear as well.

I really liked the huge Bat Cave on the way up. You should know that it is only about 1/2 way up so that's a good gage to decide if you are able to make it to the top.

Anyone with a moderate level of fitness should be able to do this fine, as for me...well I would have never made it without my hiking poles,...I feel like I conquered Mt Everest!

We set off from our accommodation in the Glass House Mountains. It was a nice pleasant walk to the foot of the mountain. Useful map situated at the foot of the mountain explaining the area and what you might see. If you need to fill up your water bottle there is also a water station. A very pleasant walk and the gradient not too steep. I would suggest that as you approach the summit you keep a watchful eye on children as the roadway does narrow with steep Falls. Wonderful views at the top.

This hike was remarkably easy compared to Tibrogargan. The ascent was moderate the whole way through, and featured an amazing overhang "cave" to explore as well as a rocky summit with astonishingly gorgeous views of Coonowrin, Beerwah, and Tibrogargan. It was a great cool-down after Tibrogargan.

My cousin & I have talked about climbing Mount Ngungun fo awhile and yesterday we did it. What a wonderful experience it was. The walk was not as hard as we expected, there are stairs and some rocks to negotiate, but the views at the top made it all worthwhile. If you can climb Mt Coolum you will have no problems with Mt Ngungun.
Well worth the effort.

En route i stopped at the lookout & the views were great. All the mountain ranges viewed together. I managed to walk up & back in 90 mins gentle pace. Some scrambling over boulders required but no rock climbing. Great views from the top & i felt safe. I saw children walking up & they seemed to cope & love it. They need supervision though. I wouldn't recommend this for the elderly.

I have been wanting to climb this apparent ‘easier’ of the Glasshouse Mountain walks for a long time, but I was so worried I wouldn’t be fit enough to complete the trek.
My kids have been begging me, and my body needs to get fit, so I made the decision to do it yesterday. I had read the reviews and though it would be easy enough!
Now, I can tell you, there were all sorts of people climbing. Some even made it look easy, kids and fitness people were running it, elderly were walking it, mother’s groups with tiny babies strapped to their front and backs even doing it!
It was hard, there were times when my knees felt like they would give in, I couldn’t catch my breath and there were times where I had
to scale up the rocks on my hands and knees, but I made it, all the way to the very top and tip!
Was it hard? Hell yes, in parts it was!
Was it Fun? Not until I made it to the top!
Was it worth it? Yes! The views were amazing, and the sense of achievement was great!
Will I do it again? Probably!
I didn’t however love the fall I had 1/4 of the way back down, twisting one ankle, and scraping the other knee, then having to complete the descent all bruised and in pain, (I am writing this review, foot strapped, on ice and elevated as I can’t walk on it today) 😔
I had good shoes on, but it can be rocky and slippery, and I would advise on wearing shoes with ankle support, or watch where you are walking!!
Also, take plenty of water!

Mt Ngungun (253m high, sixth highest of the Glasshouse Mtns) is an excellent and fairly easy walk (for those with average levels of fitness) with amazing views out to the other Glasshouse Mountains and back to the Coast. The signs say 2 hrs return (2.8 km) but I was up in 30 mins and back in 20 and walked at a steady pace only. The walk itself is not too hard as the track snakes around the mountain and gradually rises to the top with no major uphill sections. The most challenging part is once you get to the top you have to negotiate various rocks to get to the pinnacle and get the best views, which are indeed spectacular. I felt a real sense of connectedness up there and sat for half an hour just taking in the views. Others did too though as it was quite busy up at the summit but it is a large area so didn’t feel overcrowded. The drive out to Ngungun is nice too via Glasshouse Tourist Drive and there is plenty of parking available.

This climb wasn't as hard as it was advertised as. It took me (moderate fitness, not as young as I'd like) about 25 mins to get up and about 20 to get back down.
I passed people doing this with thongs (flip flops) on their feet - not the brightest of ideas since you have to rock hop quite a bit at the top. I certainly wouldn't advocate trying to climb it in anything less than sneakers 👟 in order to be as safe as possible.
It gets your heart pumping on the way up and then your brain working on the way down to navigate the uneven rocks.
I'm glad to have done it and crossed 'climb a Glass House Mountain' off my bucket list!

It was a short and somewhat easy hike (for someone who doesn't like cardio much), a mix of steps and flat trail. There are big rocks at the end to clamber around but it's not hard if you take it slow. The top is a nice place to sit on the rocks and relax or have lunch and enjoy the views of the other mountains. Took about an hour and a half all together (at an easy pace) and I suggest bringing water, a hat, and good hiking shoes.
