Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I never leave reviews. This place was too awesome to not. Owners were so friendly. The food was amazing ( try the kebabs you cook yourself!) and was just an amazing little place.

I thought I had eaten the best oysters from SA. Nope, these beat them. Nothing else to say. With the little drive off the highway without any regrets. I went back for another dozen.

If you love oysters, or want to try an oyster for the first time, this is a MUST. Freshly shucked oysters from the pristine waters of Moulting Lagoon which is 20 steps from where you can buy and eat your oysters. You can sit by the lagoon and eat your oysters with a bottle of wine, or grab a dozen to take away. We did the latter. My oyster loving partner declared they were the best ever. I am not a huge fan of oysters, but I am now, after tasting these beauties. 10/10!

I emailed the Oyster Shack as we were planning a visit but the website said it would be closed.
The response from Cassie was amazing, she was prepared to go out of the way beyond anything I expected.
I can't wait to visit one day if this is any indication of the service they give (and what I read of the oyster quality) . Thanks

Head for this lfriendly, little place off the main highway for the freshest, creamiest oysters here. We have had many an oyster around the world, and these oysters served in picturesque surrounds, with different inside and outside seating options showcases the fresh, clean waters of tasmania.

A little drive off the main road but most worth the trip. Such a fun place to eat Oysters looking out at the oyster farms where they were harvested from. Definitely an authentic experience.

Amazing Oysters and great staff! It was well worth the trip from Hobart (and even from Canada)! Thanks again to Lex for showing us the proper way to open oysters!

We stopped in here on the way to Bicheno - off the main track a bit but so worth the visit. The oysters were fresh and a must try and the staff are extremely friendly and made us feel welcome.

Honestly wasn't a far divert off the track. Had some crepes at Kate berrys, then went for oysters!

They have some sauces you can try or just have plain. Honestly so delicious! Sweet and salty. We drew the line at a dozen to share, but could have eaten more with a cider. $25 a dozen BYO wine. Great view and cool little tables to sit at. Little playground for the kids too.
