About
Lake Cave is a stunning pristine chamber deep beneath the earth. Visitors descend a staircase in time, through a spectacular sinkhole, gazing up at the towering karri trees from the floor of the sunken forest. Inside the cave a tranquil lake reflects the delicate crystal formations that grow from the cave roof. Droplets hang from the tips of straws and stalactites, before dropping to the cave floor or into the lake, creating ripples in the water. Visitors marvel at the unique 'Suspended Table' formation, which weighs several tonnes and seems to defy gravity as it hovers above the clear lake water. As the guide changes the lights to focus on different features within the cave, incredible views and silhouettes are etched in the darkness.

This is our first time visiting a cave and Josh, our guide, made it a very pleasant and memorable one. He was funny and explained very clearly on the different formations… big plus was he took v pretty pictures for us.

The sinkhole entry may seem daunting initially but there were a few sections to the stairs and hence a little a time allowed us to get accustomed . Once into the cave, its a whole new world - incredibly beautiful!

There are a few caves in the area. This is apparently the most beautiful but deep - 62meters or 325 steps down.

I have visited caves in the past and thought it may be interesting. However, it was much more than that with some truly magnificent formations as one went further into the cave - and more steps! The guide was very informative as well as making the tour interesting. There was also no restriction on taking photos so I came away feeling very pleased. I would certainly recommend this tour.

One of a number of caves in the area, we joined the escorted tour of this cave. It is a lovely, single chamber cave which you traverse for 85m: there is water present in the cave and a considerable number of formations to view. The entrance is at the bottom of a large sinkhole which requires quite a few steps down stairs to access. Guides are knowledgeable and entertaining: admission is reasonably priced with seniors discounts applying.

Beautiful cave, lake full and stunning. Informative and interesting guide. 300+ steps into and out of cave, but can take time to navigate. Highly recommend

Amazing natural cave, great tour guide very informative answered all our questions.
Very surreal at the end when the guide switched off all the lights and the tour experienced pitch black in the cave. Best part!

The drive from Albany was well worth the 4 and a half hours to visit this beautiful cave. Although not the largest cave we have visited, this cave with a slow running stream (lake) was stunning. The suspended table of limestone was a feature but there were many stalagmites, stalactites, straws, shawls and columns that put on a stunning display. The journey down into the cave meant 700 steps down and back but it was well worth the effort.
We’d highly recommend seeing this unique cave.
