I was woken by a lady with a sharp voice. The comforting sleep from #GreenMeadows in Tororo had to come to an end. it was time for Rock Climbing....i Just got my rubber shoes and off i went with my guide. I got to the base of the Rock i was given a small tour around where i saw cave.... More
We hiked up the 'rock' pretty midday so probably not a great time as it was really really hot so involved a lot of water breaks! Otherwise the hike up wasn't too bad but very rocky and some built in ladders toward the top but very secure. Definitely with the views when you reach the top :)
The Tororo Rock is a very beautiful sedimentary rock outcrop which is the most outstanding feature in Tororo town. In fact the town derives its name from the rock. The dominant padhola community would say "I am going to Tor Oro" meaning a place of fog year long. Fog is found around the rock. There are guides that can take... More
It's a very steep climb, so be prepared! Don't go in the middle of the day when the sun is at it's hottest. Make sure you don't get ripped off when allocated a guide - we paid 10,000 UGX which was more than enough - don't pay mzungo price. Amazing views from the top, you can even see Kenya on... More
Tororo Presents one of the greatest fitness activities manifested through profound rock climbing. For the sports lovers, this is an even better opportunity, since the exercise and flexibility you get here is directly equated to staircase climbing. You have got to visit Tororo just to have one of the most memorable and refreshing views from the rock top!
The hike is short but steep! Near the top there are a series of ladders that take you to the summit. It was by far my favorite attraction in Tororo!
The hiking at Tororo Rock is very steep with some rocks & ladders- but worth it!! You can see all of Tororo from the top and it is just breathtaking!! It's a short hike (maybe 1-1.5 hrs roundtrip) & very worth it! I would take a guide if it is your first time.
