A wonderful view of Nemunas river and pine tree forests of Dzūkija National Park. The attraction can take up to 45 minutes. The observation tower is quite popular among tourists visiting South Lithuania, so it's better to avoid weekends. The tower is located in Merkinė town on the way to Druskininkai resort. It's also worth to spend a couple of days in the surroundings for Dzūkija national park for it's great activities. You can stay in the countryside holiday homes nearby - for example "Dzūkijos uoga")

Easy to reach, parking is next to tower, when we were, was bit rainy and mist, but still could see far. I kinda afraid high, but felt stable there

High tower. The tower itself is surrounded by trees. After climbing you can see a beautiful view of nature from above. When we climbed to the top that day I felt a slight fluctuation in the tower.

I like the shape of the tower and I like the location. Also some good information on top, on the info boards. Parking free, right under.

The complex structure which differs from other observation towers in the Lithaunia. You rise above pine trees and see woods 360 degrees around. But main drawback is that Nemunas and Merkys confluence and old Merkine town is hidden behind trees

everytime I come here - I am proud of my country that has beautiful river, many green forests and this view is in my heart.
Easy to climb, comfy stairs, if more than 10 people climb at once - it starts to move that is not a very good feeling for somebody. But it is really safe :)

Not for the faint-hearted, this 20-30 metre high platform in spirals of steel stairway and with views down between one's feet stands like a modern totem in the middle of dense woods. At least one of our party had got the jitters and couldn't wait to get down again. The structure looks very new and quite sound, but the flat top observation deck actually does sway a few centimetres back and forth as you walk on it. The Nemunas river meandering through the valley can be seen down below a bank as well as the great extent of pine forest that makes up the Dzūkija region all around.

It's quite a sensation to achieve the ascent and it's much recommended. It's also just a bit of a relief to be back on firm ground afterwards.
