Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Monday morning visit so it wasn’t too busy.
40 rupees per adult and 50 for a camera (although camera ‘phones seemed exempt from the charge).

Very pleasant stroll, some impressive glasshouses.

The temperature was round 22 degree Celsius when we entered and in an hour it went down to almost 14 degree Celsius. The garden was quite crowded as expected and we spent around an hour and half. We spent time sitting in the lawns and decided to leave around 6 PM as it was getting colder.

Could hardly believe it: after paying the fee and entering the gardens an autorickshaw driver used his horn to signal I had to get out of the way! Many other vehicles with officials and visitors use the lower garden area path to reach Raj Bhavan (government offices). Perhaps it demonstrates what the priorities of the authorities are.

Anyway, the gardens established in 1848 are still worth visiting. Indeed, one of Ooty's highlights where a huge variety of trees, shrubs and flowers from different parts of the world are cultivated. If you want to escape the crowds and noisy traffic walk up to the upper zone where there is an old gate house also called Raj Bhavan, but without arrogant inhabitants.

To address waste issues follow the example of the Government Rose garden where there is strict supervision by attentive female guards. No garbage around there!

Always a favorite spot for visiting Tourists with Family. The place is huge and green and mesmerizing. Hope it is maintained in this manner for more and more decades to come.

Suggest that a map could be provided or sold for the visitors to understand the vastness and the key points to visit and not miss. Other wise people jut gather on just few points and leave in a hurry.

Parking facilties to be made in a organized manner. If it cannot be provided nearby, it can be done far away and free or paid shuttles can be arranged.

Ooty Botanical garden is just a normal garden with limited collection of plants & trees. The glasshouse is a pretty decent one to get few good clicks on your camera. The snacks or tea served within the snack bar inside its compound isn't recommended. The flora here is quite an enriching experience and is a one time see. It took us two hours to explore the garden and was a pleasant experience to have a glance across the variety of trees and flowers within. I would say it makes a good evening walk within the greenery across the garden. There are quite a couple of shops outside the Botanical garden for a quick shopping. One must surely try the Ooty Varkey (sweet) which is one of the most famous sweet of Ooty. You can even buy the famous home made Ooty chocolates from these shops. Botanical Garden is easily accessible from the town and its just a 10 minutes ride.

It's a must visit in Ooty, like the lake.

expect difficulty in finding a parking space, there are enough parking facilities available, but it depends on the season and rush.

entry tickets were easy enough to get, not much rush due to an untimely drizzle.

We went at the right time, so there were flowers blooming in all colors and in all directions... It was truly amazing.

There is a lot of walking you can do, depending on who you are with. i had my parents with me, so our exploration diameter was less.

it was a good experience, and highly recommended for anyone visiting Ooty.

A must visit place when you plan for ooty. An absolutely stunning and beautiful garden with tastefully decorated trees and plants. The garden is so vast that you need at least 3 hours to cover it.
We happen to visit it accidently as it was not in our itinerary but thank god we went there else we might have missed it.

Nicely maintained garden. Different kinds of gardens are inside. The italian one is on the top in a step by step fashion. The landscaping is nice. The bushes that were shaped like animals look beautiful. The glass houses had lovely flower arrangement. Bonsais are also there. Children were rolling on the sloping lawns! Properly labelled trees also are there. There are approved and private parking facilities around it.
