Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Local Spanish guides recommended this beautiful and undeveloped area for a view of Pyrenean foothills. There are many hidden rivers, canyons, archaic caves, Romanesque villages and mountain bike trails between all. We drove for miles with no other cars, walked passing only herders and farmers, and hiked among peaks where only birders seemed to know the treasures of wildlife. The Somontano region of Spain is untrampled, and this park is an oasis of beauty that recalls Sante Fe and northern New Mexico circa 1950. Almond trees on terraced fields met deep aqua canyons where Paleolithic people played. I'm hesitate to share the gem, but those looking for life and nature off the tourist path should know about the amenities of the villages and the adventure of the protected spaces here.

With its impressive limestone summits, canyons & gorges, the Sierra de Guara is a top destination for outdoor lovers seeking adventure. The Sierra de Guara is officially recognised as the birthplace of canyoning (or canyoneering), it is a popular climbing spot and there are some incredible hiking trails to be discovered. With birds of prey (eagles, falcons & vultures) flying overhead, it’s also the perfect destination for bird lovers. Even if bird watching isn’t usually your thing, you’ll wish you had some binoculars with you. I spent 3 incredible days of hiking & canyoning in Rodellar and 3 days in the lovely medieval village of Alquezar.

This is the most appealing area I have visited in Spain so far. We camped in Rodellar (you can choose between to campgrounds) and hiked through wild canyons and desolate mountains for several days. The landscape is harsh but exudes a certain poetry. Menacing and attractive at the same time. Often, I thought we were walking in a Western movie landscape. Can't wait to go back.

We went canyoning in Sierra de guara and it was amazing! We had a guide, Chur, who has 22 years of experience! He knows the canyons like he owns the place. I’m afraid of heights but he guided me so well, I had totally no fear during our trip! The views are amazing and I would totally do it again.
