A wonderful place. Unfortunately I had trouble finding my way back to the tunnel. Watch the trail signs carefully, or an afternoon hike might turn into a 9 hour, starlight lit adventure, luckily it wasn't very cold, and didn't rain. Cell service poor, but at...More

Pretty cool thing to do, especially if you never been around tunnels much. Only down fall, the graffiti all over the walls. Aside from that it was really nice. Next time would like to spend some time hiking the trails and going down to the...More

The road does actually lead somewhere, to a tunnel that empties onto some hiking trails. The story behind this road and tunnel are interesting enough. A government deal concerning building a damn and reimbursing locals for their land fell through and the road was never...More

This is a trail which takes you through a tunnel constructed in the 1940s when a road liking the south side of the Smokies was planned to Cades Cove or other areas west towards Fontana. The government reneged on the deal and now the road...More
