Sammed Shikar ji is a place where Jain Deity's are believed to have attained Salvation (Moksha). In even simpler words they preached with deep penance and meditation on these hills without food and water until death.

Not just the Jain religion followers but anyone who know this place well has deep respect for it.
People from all sects of community or country with any religious beliefs are welcome and they are expected to follow some common Indian pilgrimage guidelines like keeping the area clean , non consumption of liquor or meat etc.

Its a beautiful trek and generic fitness would be needed to cover the entire length of trekk. There are some wild animals in the Madhuban forests which surround this area so its not advised to return late after sunset back from the summit. Most people start the trekk early morning.

First of all , it's Jain Pilgrimage destination. Most powerful place for jains to worship. 20 Jain lord got moksh from this parasnath hill,

We were 950 people in group, booked special train from Navsari, gujarat, INDIA.
Includes Agra, rajgruhi, Lachchvad, hastinapur, rujuvalika and many more in our iternery for 12 days tour.

For sammed sikharji our tour operator has decided 3 days for staying in Koriya dharamadhala. Very much near to Bhomiyaji temple. Without praying in this Bhomiyaji temple no people starting their journey to climb parasnath hill for 31 Jain small temple. And a big shikharbandi Jain temple at jalmandir.

Jalmandir is 250 years old only temple having sikharji.. And biggest temple on hill. It is believed that it is the middle point between main Jain small temple of paswanath and chandraprabhu temple. If Some people can't completed their whole journey in a day, they will pray in jalmandir only. And paswanath tunk(temple) on one side of hill

Only jalmandir temple has all the facility to having bath,(important in Jain religion). Seva, pooja.. So people has to visit this temple first to freshen up.

Parasnath hill tirth has 27 km to walk from down to hill top.. Jalmandir is at the 9.5 km from base part..and parshwanath temple is 3.5 kms in west part and. Chandra prabhu temple is also 3.5 km in east part.. Gautam swami temple ,jalmandir , parshwanath temple and Chandra prabhu temple are the main attractions and pray points on hill.

People can decide doliwala on the gate of Bhomiyaji temple for 3500 to 7000 bucks depending on one's weight to proceed to complete the jatra. ( doliwala - 4 or 2 people carry a person to the top of the hill in chair or kavad).

Tips

1. Should bath in dharamadhala will be easy as no bathrooms are avail.on parasnath hill (if one want to do all hills)
1. First take blessings from Bhomiyaji temple.@taleti to get relax jatra. Don't forget to take bhata (prasad) pass free of cost at Bhomiyaji temple.

2. Start climbing the mountain @4.

If you are willing to do all hills.. Than take left from middle of mountain to paswanath temple(written on board( take left for parasnath temple)) (no pooja allowed in parasnath temple)

4. After Darshan.. You can proceed to supashwanath temple..and vimalnath temple..@1 km from parasnath took.. Than small temples on lane to jalmandir..

5 @jalmandir temple.. Take bath ..and do seva pooja.. And proceed towards chandraprabhu temple. In between there are 31 small temples..which are must to pray upon..

6 from chandraprabhu temple you will get the way directly to taleti.

Jatra done. Total of 27 kms. In between you will get bhatu(sweet boondi+lemon tea+ganthiya) prasad.

Jai jinendra.

It is THE Most IMP place for any JAIN follower and VERY spiritual place for any religious person.
Far from the city there are mountain which sum up to TOTAL 27 KM walking in one day time which start at 4am. people start their yatra with TORCH and LATHI in hand and Prasad in shoulder.
We are not supposed to wear Shoes or slipper on the Mountain as it dampen it but people these days neglect it and also started eating all kind of thing and throwing Plastic which is bad for ENV and REGION authenticity both.

I have been here 4 time and complete around 10 VANDANA and one PARIKRAMA which 55 km walk which involves circling the entire mountain

Sammet Shikharji- the land of tirthankara's salvation!

It is impossible for the human mind to estimate the cosmic and the eternal power and purity of that land on which even one tirthankaras attainded the salvation, so what would be the condition for the human brains where twenty tirthankaras attatined nirvana!

The journey to this holy pilgrimage rids misery, confers piety and destroys sin.

Literal meaning of sammed shikhar is mountain of purifying powers. The more influencing meaning is that mountain blessed by touch of the most powerful and eternal persons (the tirhtankaras) and are residing, is the sammet shikhar. A venerable peak is also tirtha raj of all jain tirtha and most sacred one..

When a devotee starts this holiest hike for Sammed Shikharji, his heart and mind gets filled with great enthusiasm, joy and ingenuous devotion towards Teerthankaras.

Really, Sammet Shikhar is an astonishing , unique and awakened holy pilgrimage. Even today the atmosphere of Sammet Shikhar contains a sort of holiness. This mountain's own special feature is that it always remains redolent with the fragrant
trees of a large Sandal forest situated over it. Several rare herbal medicines are found on this mountain. The melodious sound of the cool water-falls flowing on this mountain gladdens our heart.

This great Teerth Kshetra Shri Sammed Shikharji situated in between the natural scenery of hills. The series of attractive
sky high temples present an eye pleasing attractive scene existing between hills with natural greenery and pollution
free environment.

This is the unique place for spiritual development, eternal peace, steadiness of mind and meditation.

Jai Jinenedra,

I have been there when I was 16 year old. I can still remember those days when we started our "Sikhar Ji Yatra" at 4 o'clock in the morning and climbing up the mountains through the jungle all the way 27 kms. It was quite exciting to see the beauty of the nature from the top of the mountains and relaxing aside on the rocks and hearing the sound of the waterfalls. I have planned to visit Shikhar Ji again this winter with my parents.Hopefully it will be accomplished if I am fortunate enough.

Visited shikhar ji immediately after Deepawali with family. It was a religious trip of Jain pilgrimage situated at Bihar and Jharkhand, by car. Started from bodhgaya, veerayatan, kundalpur, rajgir, pawapuri, gunawa ji, kshatriyakund, rijuvalika and shikhar ji. It took 5 days. We stayed at a newly built digamber dharamshala just behind bhomia ji dharamshala, it's very nice, neat and clean, supportive manager.
