Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Good to visit to learn about Byzantine Civilization. Using a guide is a must because practically most of the ruins were destroyed.
There are ruins of fortress, a bath, a court and the local byzantine market.
Unfortunately the archeological site is not well kept.

While driving to Dougga, I noticed some ruins standing behind some street shops on the main road. I told my driver to turn around so that we could explore a bit. Glad I did. Ain Tounga was a Roman (and maybe Punic beforehand) site that became a municipality early in the 3d century CE. Later, the Byzantines built a fortress there to protect trade routes in 565-578 CE. It was called Thignica in those days. The site was surprisingly expansive and defined enough where one can easily identify houses, markets, and shrines and temples. Well worth a stop on your way to Dougga.

http://looklex.com/tunisia/ain_tounga.htm search through this web sit to see just how interesting this site is. It is not far from Dougga so if you hire a car with or without a driver you could fit them both in a days outing. It would be a shorter outing if you stay in Hammamet.

Good place to visit. Visit would be more profitable if it is guided.
There is a byzantine market, court, bath and fortress.
Unfortunately the site is not well kept.
