Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Sadly due to recent rockfall we could not get to Circular Pool but the lookout from above was lovely and an easy, very short walk from the car park.

When we arrived at Dales Gorge car park we could read that Circular Pool was closed, so we went to the Circular Pool lookout before starting the Dales Gorge Loop proceeding along the top of the gorge in Fortescue Falls direction. We took a few photos though the view of the pool from the lookout is interesting but incomplete. The stop sign we found at the beginning of the path to Circular Pool was reporting the following reasons: there is exposed asbestos on the path ahead due to recent rockfall – there is a high risk of further rockfalls. There were no indications about the reopening times nor could any work in progress be seen. These reasons make it unlikely that this pool will be reopened in the short term.

My score for Circular pool is affected by the fact that the walk was closed so you could only view it from the lookout. When you get to the end of the walk from Dales Gorge there are barricades telling you can go no further as they have had rock falls. You then have to go straight up the side of the hill to get back to the top or walk the 3kms back.Really cant see too much from the lookout.Look forward to it being open again one day in the future

Located close to the Dales Gorge Campsite.
Start your walk at this pool and continue onwards until you reach fern pool.

Circular Pool might not be my favorite natural pool in Karijini National Park, but it is worth a visit. Visit the other pools first of there are too many at this one. I recommend returning just before sunset (1h) if you are staying at the campsite. If you are lucky you might get Circular Pool for yourself.

We walked from Dales camp ground down to Circular pool ( which was a bit crowded) and then along to Fortescue Falls and Fern pool. It was an easy walk, just a bit hot on the walk back to Dales from Fern pool. Fern pool was my favourite pool on this walk. This part of the park was much more crowded then the West side of the park by Weano Gorge however it was school holidays.

Lots of steps to climb down to the bottom (then up again!!) but it was a beautiful spot to visit. I would have had a swim, but the water was too cold for my liking!!

Hiking to Circular Pool near Dales Gorge Campground is best done early in the morning to ensure a magnificent solitude experience of this beautiful natural pool. The water is very cold because the pool only gets a few hours sun every day. The water is crystal clear and reflects the beautiful red walls of the gorge.

From the NP brochures, the photos of this circular pool in time of water would make a fabulous spot to cool off after the walk down from the car park.It is a steep descent down to the gorge bottom and a stroll to the fern-framed pool for a swim. Allow 2 hrs for there & return.
