Highly recommend the Hoppa bus to Karijini National Park. We were able to join the bus in Exmouth, stay at pastoral stations along the way, visit the beautiful gorges of Karijini and fly out of Parabadoo. Pete’s knowledge and stories are legendary and provide a special insight into the places and people of this region. Thanks also to Jackson for his help on the trip. Add this to your bucket list!

No need to spend thousands of dollars on expensive glamping tours of Karinjini, The Flying Sandgroper (Karinjini Hoppa Bus) is the least expensive way of visiting this amazing National Park. The adventure begins being picked up from your Exmouth accommodation or Learmonth/Paraburdoo airports. The owner/operator, Pete West is a great bloke, full of traveling wit with a passion and knowledge of the area that only a longstanding resident of the Pilbara could possess. I would highly recommend traveling on The Flying Sandgroper (Karinjini Hoppa bus), it has left me with lifelong happy memories of one of the most beautiful National Parks in Australia. Oops! almost forgot to mention the great coffee Pete makes at the many pit stops along the way!

Amazing! Highly recommend this enjoyable experience with The Flying Sandgroper. Pete's knowledge of the Pilbra and Karijini National Park, experiences and stories of the indigenous cultures were highly informative, interesting and entertaining.
He makes you feel welcomed, comfortable, valued and safe at all times throughout the trip and provides all the information required for you to make the most of the tour. Pete looks after travellers with "barista" made coffee, tea and biscuits or a sugar free beverage at most stops along the way and always has a funny story to tell.
Karijini itself is Spectacular and if you go with Pete, he will make sure you get to experience as much of it as you can, safely because he knows the area so well.

Thanks Mark and Co - We enjoyed yr company very much & Flying into Karijini Airstrip with light aircraft is the coolest way in for sure. Note - let Owen know I took his advice with the Golden Cane and have been trimming from the stem base now. Cheers all

We hired a 4 wheel drive from "The Flying Sandgroper" and had the best service and 4 wheel drive. We flew into Paraburdoo and got the shuttle bus to Tom Price. We were met by lovely Vaughn who handed over a spotless 4 wheel drive and gave us some good instructions. The car drove well over the unsealed roads in Karijini National Park, though it took a little getting use to for us city slickers. We then drove onto Coral Bay and then to Exmouth. We met Pete in Exmouth and handed over the car, covered in red dust. Pete was fantastic and drove us all to the airport. What fantastic service and highly recommend using again. I would love to try one of your tours next time. Thank you.

We recently went on an arranged tour from Exmouth to Karijini National Park. Firstly let me say that this is truly a beautiful and magical part of Australia. To ensure that you get the best of this amazing place you should go with Pete from the Flying Sandgroper. He and his team Kyle and Zac as well as Karen, who prepares the most amazing meals, will ensure you have a great trip. Pete's bus is a comfortable ride with well spaced stops along the way. Our camp near the park was rustic and fun with tent sleeping and opportunities to sit around the camp fire. We made the most of our time during the day walking through the beautiful gorges and swimming in waterholes. Pete's fabulous knowledge of the area really enhanced our experience. Berfore the park Pete showed us around Exmouth and when we returned to Exmouth Pete arranged our dinner and breakfast before we sadly had to leave. We hope to return to travel with Pete again.

Okay, the first thing I have to say about Pete is that he is very chillaxed and willing to help. He is responsive to emails and cleared up a date issue really quick even though it was my fault. We received a spotless 4WD for $170 per day (2 night min). We wanted it mainly to get to Hamersley Gorge (not suitable for 2WD road - very corrugated and the gravel dust from the road trains is unbelievable) but it was also good to get to Dales Gorge and to head into town without having to lug a motorhome everywhere.

No crazy rules (like the motor home companies) and our credit card covered the excess if required (I checked our credit card Product Disclosure Statement and double checked by ringing them prior). Pete gave us a run down and a few useful tips prior. He even delivered the 4WD to us and picked it up afterwards at Tom Price Tourist Park. The cleaning fee was included too “I’d be disappointed if there wasn’t red dirt all over it” LOL! Tremendous country service!

Karajini National Park is such a special place and Pete and the team are the best people to show you this as they love it too! Pete has been lucky enough to live in Karajini for 6 years and brings a unique perspective and experience to his tours because of this.

The tours are well catered for in every respect. The tents are comfortable and right next to the toilet block with good lighting. The food is incredible thanks to his lovely wife Karen, and every dietary need was covered effortlessly. Water shoes were provided for those who didn't own them, and even spare sleeping bags and camp pillows incase anyone was caught out.

The time in the park followed the internet itinery and was filled with really insightful commentary the whole way through. It is the most amazing destination ever and the only issue with the tour is it's not long enough! My suggestion - do the 2 day tour with Pete as an introduction and then hire a 4WD from him to do a few more days on your own.

Pete has traveled far and wide but has fallen in love with this area, so it's not just a job to him. He understands what it's like to be travelling far from home and goes above and beyond to make sure that the tour participants time in the region goes as smoothly as possible.

If you're travelling in W.A. dont missout on Karajini - well worth the drive out there! Give Pete a call and book in - best decision you will make for your whole holiday 😊

We loved every minute of our Flying Sandgroper Reef to Range Tour. Pete is a brilliant guide, and nothing was too much trouble. Karijini is a must-see; the gorges are stunning, the swims were wonderful, and the drives through the park just breathtaking.
Honestly couldn't recommend this tour enough.

Karijini is a beautiful place and a must see for any traveller. We had such a great time with Pete and his crew. They’re a relaxed and friendly bunch who put safety first and give a professional, informative and interesting tour. Pete is always ready with a story and was happy to give us information on what else there is to see in the surrounding areas. I’m telling all my friends to see Karijini with Pete – great food, great people and a great time!
