Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Spend 1 hour in Alun alun Batu while we are waiting Jatim Park 3 to be open. We deliberately heading to Batu early in the morning to avoid weekend traffic.
Really nice square, with many fountains, bench to just unwind, lots if Bati residence seems to enjoying morning as well some of them playing water bubble that can be purchased in nearby store. Batu city square also being equipped with ferris wheel...if you want to take a glimpse of Batu city from the heights

The characteristic City Square in Indonesia are green grass, great mosque in one side of it, surrounded by many hawkers.
Batu City Square definitely has them all, plus close to ketan susu legenda (which is a legend :)), it also has ferris wheel, and a building form of apple & strawberry which represent their well known feature.
Best to visit at night to see colourful light

It maybe just a place with only ferris wheel.
however,
the point is not on this thing,
you can really enjoy the weather, the view, the stalls which I love to have a hot fresh milk... and the most important thing is... come with your couple, otherwise you will not find the joy, haha

My friends from Jakarta with were surprised to see the ticket fee of the Ferris Wheel (only 3K IDR per pax). Too cheap for them who get used to Jakarta's high living cost. They ended up enjoying the ride twice!
The square itself was also a nice park to get relax, enjoy the vibe of this small yet peaceful highland city.

I think this place is clean and no garbage surround this area. Because the provide many trash can so visitors can easily throw the trash in it. Nice atmosphere, many lights make your night more romantic. Besides, there are many local food stands and some coffees cafe around the town square. The price of the foods isn't too expensive.

Actually its just a central park at Kota Batu, but it have many of great spot arround. On the square it self there's some attraction for toddler and teenage such as playground and ferris wheel. And for culinary lover there are many of great spot to try such as "Warung Ketan Legenda" , Kedai susu murni KUD, and some of local culinary spot.
Parking area were to crowded so I suggest to park your vehicle not near the city square but look for a parking spot about 200 meters to the west of the square at Jalan Gajahmada. Best to be visited above 6pm and below 11pm, and not recommended to visit at noon because no attraction available and culiary spot open during the day. But you could try to ride "dokar" ( a horse-drawn buggy ).

I give 5 star because i adore so much the kindness of the locals.
The locals seems to know the value of tourism, they are ready to emphasize the tagline of Batu City "Shining Batu"
Not like in anyer while locals are ready to "rob" your money with a VERY expensive stuff and attraction which is not meet the quality. In batu everything is cheap and affordable.
The only thing to know before buying anything is to make sure you buying it from the malangnese, because there also a merchant which is not malangnese and their service is quite rude.
You can know malangnese from their accent,
For the attraction you can hang out at several restaurant around the square, ride the flyer, or just enjoying the park.
Its a simple stop while you explore the beauty of malang
