Kids loved this prehistoric museum / it's been refurbished to a super high standard. Kids and parents loved it. You have to make sure you enjoy some of the workshops and demos which they run - brilliant. Lots to do around the village also. Well worth a visit. Thanks

Although I'm not too interested in museums or things prehistoric, I couldn't help but admire how the ruins of the Chateau had been rebuilt with a modern twist which somehow seemed to accentuate the old. Very well laid out and although no English notices, the audio guide (in English) gives all the information required. We were slightly out of season,... More

It's a fun and educational place for your kids, the building itself it's really impressive with big windows and sunlight everywhere, makes it even more appealing

We loved the wooly mammoth and the pre-historic elk! No cafe, but a huge picnic area and lovely gardens.

I appreciate people we have spoken to do not like the new building attached to the old chateau but I think it looks excellent facilities are good too, as well as the grounds and car park spacious. And what a location.

We stayed in this small town as a base to visit some of the châteaux in the area. Moral of this story? Don't ignore what's on your doorstep! We certainly hadn't expected to find such an incredible and extensive collection in such a small town, but I'm glad we made the effort to spend some time here. The building that... More

We had not expected to find and view the quality and quantity of artefacts gathered and beautifully presented and protected in this musuem. Don,t let the modern building put you off, it actually is transformed from the original walls and foundations which become evident when inside. We both left feeling enriched and much more informed from ancient paleolithic ages thru... More

We first visited the museum about 12 years ago, when it was housed in much smaller premises. This was our first visit since the new, much larger, museum opened. As on our previous visit, we were amazed at the display of stone tools and other artefacts. It was particularly interesting to see how stones blades had been created from a... More
